Reckon this is a good team, would be better with Manu instead of Wright of course. Heck it's worth a go, the status quo was not happening. I am actually excited about the possibilities instead of feeling doomed to a thrashing.

I'm coming off Lillyman, he's a player in the Graham, Tolman mould but with half (maybe two thirds) of the workrate with no offloads and doesn't seem to be the leader in the team that he should be by now (ala graham/tolman).

He's not in their league, but I guess he's an origin player and Tolman's not - my point was more the Hurrell one, I don't see him adding impact from the bench - he's strong, reliable and his value is starting IMO - there or reserves. He wasn't good on the weekend, but wasn't awful, and was good prior

In saying that he comes off the bench for Queensland and has done a job...

My issue has been defence and the halves - Robson was crap but at least he was trying...

For all the shit Manu gets, he makes our props more effective... and the only 100M forwards we have are Matulino and Lillyman (until other forwards prove otherwise) - now we've put Lillyman in the bench

Well we now have a line in the sand.
Johnson can run for 4 metres and get a pass mark.
The guy will never be dropped.
What incentive is there for him to make an effort?

Vete hurt?

Bench is useless - Lillyman should start imo, Gubb's a liability and two backs

Think Lillyman needs a wake up call.

Vete would be in for Gubb for mine. And leave Hurrell off for Sao.

Gubb lost me against the Sea Eagles. Defensive impact is all good and well, but we need to be rolling up the middle.

I thought Lillyman has been our best prop in the last few weeks so probably a bit harsh for him to be the one to be dropped, hopefully it's just for the same reason Cappy had Muts starting on the bench early in the year.

Great to see Tui in the halves, at last. I hope this is the combination that works and could be a masterstroke, lets just hope it doesn't go the other way and fail altogether. I just hope that SJ can really control the side around the park (which he's never been overly good at) and that the forwards can lay the platform so that Tui and SJ can run rampant and cause some damage. Good to see Fusitua in the side too, I called for him to be included last week on the Warriors FB group so it's good to see them give him a go this week and hopefully he makes the most of it.

This is the happiest I've been with the teamlist all year. I think this is our strongest 17 at this point so hopefully they can get the job done and can really set us on our way for this season.

And you know what will happen, he'll wake up suddenly between rounds 10-20 before disappearing again, and then turn up an epic Kiwis performance to paper over the season disaster.

You can throw a blanket over his truly quality 80 minute NRL performances, not including those with a last minute miracle play. Look at our PoD's at the end of every year, I don't think he even makes top 5 of those most of the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lillyman starts tbh - this is the Dogs, things could go badly for Lisone - then again, I guess Lillyman ould come on when Kasiano and Klemmer come on...
c
Gubb's a lunatic - offers little with the ball and while he hits hard and is committed, he's a penalty/suspension in waiting - surprised the kerfuffle at the end against Manly wasn't looked at - looked like Gubb came in with a Ron Gibbs like attack on the knees

so happy to see Bodene back
He is the most damaging of the back rowers and good for a try in the opposition red zone if we get the play half right.
Think a lot of people have underestimated his value in the team.
Fusitua on wing is a dice throw. Shame Manu is not fit but may be a late inclusion like the last time he was injured.
Lolo i guess had to come back since Johnson is being such a scaredycat and not running. If no one from 6 or 7 is testing the line, the opposition d has it so much easier.

Cap didnt have the kahunas to drop Johnson. Maybe if he was a supercoach there wouldnt be any backlash but if they lost badly to the Dogs with Johnson in reserve grade, he might cook his own goose so i guess he's playing safe while Jim still has his back.

Maybe the chance he'll get shown up by a younger, tougher, faster (well at least he might set off on a few direct runs to show of his comparitive speed) and more promising halves partner? Imagine that! Johnson Inc. may get a fright.

I kind of agree that it might've been too early for Lane. But then I think of Inu having that blinder for the Dogs, a week or two after being cut by us, and a bad feeling RFM will do likewise this Saturday.

Our team announced today looks darn good on paper, but we usually do, don't we?

Right on, although I'd like Fusitua to actually play, and play well, rather than Manu being rushed back with rescuing us in mind. It's a long season and we obviously need Manu as fit as he can be. Fusitua should be the future, he's definitely got a modern winger's talent of finding the tryline in a tight squeeze, this shot he's got on the weekend will be an important leap of faith.

The coach has a chance of catapulting himself from outhouse to penthouse over the next two rounds. Look, it probably won't happen, but we're playing two elite NRL sides, the first at home, where we 'should' be tough to beat, and the second in Melbourne on Anzac Day, an occasion where we usually excel.

I'd have Gavet instead of TL or Konnie.. don't need 2 backs on the bench.

Good to see SJ get his jersey back and Tui in his right position..

As discussed, the idea of Johnson at six was that he'd have more space/opportunity to run, not being bogged down with 'chores' like feeding the scrum, etc. It didn't work out. Will he fire up more from halfback?

Still don't get having TL and Konnie both on the bench. I think I'd rather have TL as cover for hooker and halves and drop Konnie at this stage. Our use of the interchange has been bordering on idiotic.

Looking forward to seeing what Lolo does at 6. Since SJ doesn't run anymore it might be a really smart move. Lolo runs good. But between the two of them will the team having any structure? Probably not.

If Tui was going to play, SJ was the guy to drop. But McFadden knows if he loses without SJ in the team, he's pretty well f**ked.

So we lose even more structure. Robson has actually been okay the last couple of weeks I thought, but it seems the guy that McFadden actively went out and got - and plays in the same position the coach did - is now no longer up to the task. Have you ever heard a better example of crap coaching/recruitment?

Then two backs on the bench.

I love Tui and I like that he has the ball in his hands more. But I don't see this ending well.

Vete named in NSWarriors is bullshit, hes done nothing wrong.

has tui got a kicking game or is it sj and luke doing it all

cant understand the bench, konnie playing 25 minutes is not helping him or the team especially with bodene back. either he plays the whole game or drop him

i think this is cappys last stand, we get pumped then off to winz id say
