I'd rather see Ayshford come in at centre, and then Fus at fullback.

Why is Ayshford in the doghouse when he was a standout last year?

I'd say this will cost us the game.
Fus to fullback, Ayshford to centre makes most sense.

Hope I'm proved wrong!

On Hingano, one idea is that once Foran comes in, Hingano goes to the bench ahead of second row cover. Maybe Afoa becomes a prop. When Hingano comes on, Foran goes to the backrow.

8- Afoa
10- Vete

14- Hingano
15- Lillyman
16- Lisone
17- Tevaga/Roache/Sipley/someone with some impact

Gubb gone.

Will have to assess when Matulino returns

We are in trouble I think. The most concerning thing I find is we have a pack of triers, but they don't bend the line or get quick rucks. RTS takes a lot of heat off them when he plays because he does exactly that. Tui doesn't, he's more a twister and a turner, and a floater, and a dropper of the football. Not sure exactly how we can get parity against their pack.

One 'back' or utility only IMO. And It should be Hingano when Foran is back. If we are talking when Matulino is back, I'd have Matulino and Vete start, Hingano, Afoa, Lillyman and Lisone as the bench.

Matt Allwood should be fullback.

But since Tui is the black sheep, he better play out of his skin

Ayshford wasn't named in the ISP team, so he could still be a chance with Fus at Fullback.

Edit. Just saw that they've confirmed Tui to start at fullback.

No, Allwood really shouldn't. Reserve grade journeyman at best. He will be laughing that Cappy fell head over heels for him.

Thank f**k the Dogs have ordinary halves is all I can say, a top class tactical kicker would have a field day with him

Allwood played one of the best games I've seen from him last week at fullback in the Reserves. He is a solid player, but we have enough skill in those positions to cover before we would need him atm. Doesn't mean I wouldn't put him at fullback before Tui though.

Are you talking about the Newcastle game? For the first 50 minutes of that game it was nothing but an opposed training session against a bunch of local club players. I don't know how much can be read into that to be honest.

He's back in the centres this week, I think CNK is playing fullback.

It might work the other way though - the Dogs halves are so bad with their kicking game they might just put up basic bombs all day, which likely would work out badly for us with this back three... Tui seems like he stopped trying (and hasn't started since) the minute Cappy dropped him vs the Sharks last year and Ken's high ball abilities are, well... laughable.

Gee, I think standout is a bit of an embellishment. Somewhere nearish solid I think Is more fitting. Others would suggest plodder is apt.

Fair enough. Standout buy of the year based on zero expectation, and he delivered a reliable, defensively solid centre option we haven't had in years, earning him an almost automatic starting spot for most of the year. Yes he's not a star, but I'd feel safer heading into the next game with his name on the sheet rather then Tui's, based on Tui's performances this year so far.

Ayshford was more than acceptable - Lolohea just isn't very good IMO - agree 100% that Fus should be fullback and Ayshford centre

Clearly Lolohea has a bigger upside, he could be brilliant - I just don't recall the last time he was, so doesn't seem likely to me
