14 games with Ben Pomeroy in the centres this year --> 1 win (rd 1) - average between 3.5 and 4 tries against..

In fairness to Rieck, atleast he could burn back his oppostive number with pure pace. Pom can't run 3 metres without him finding a way to lose it! A frustrating player to watch that's for sure

If donnelly plays before Verlinden there is something wrong!

If its a salary cap problem, than its Ricky's fault for not being more organized and seeking an exemption due to injuries.

Donnelly is terrible, so what if Verlinden is unfit he is not going to be worse than Donnelly.

Secondly why do we persist with Hughes he is gone next season!, Juodo is the man Ricky is looking to as a replacement for next year (and probably long term after Morris) why not at least give him a turn, if he excel's he might poach Morris's spot.

We are persisting with old players that are average instead of giving the youth a turn. This would have been the case for Fergo, Porter and Stapo this season if we had a couple less injuries, DO WE NOT LEARN???

Give them a sniff a least, than they will no what they have to train for, and what its all about, this is the perfect time to blood juniors (escpecially when we are not weakening the team by doing so!!!

to answer your questions, i would sy your views are quite simplistic & devoid of any knowledge of contract incentives & kick ins.
Say for instance Verlinden &/or Joudo get a kickin of 10k each if they make first grade?
Thats 20k extra just for this game today.
& believe me, contracts are full of incentives & kickins for fringe players.

Not to mention the fines you cop for breaching the salary cap.
What is it? Something like twice the amount of the breach?

We would have to be sailing very bloody close to it after using 31 players this year.
Let's assume those players were given a run for the last 6 rounds.
It would not be hard to imagine that costing $50 in "incentives" and match payments etc.

So that would mean a fine of $100k. It has been very widely reported that we don't have that kind of money to throw around.

It's all well and good to say we should be asking for dispensastion due to injuries, but who is to say we haven't already?
