I am sure that's funny, but I have to confess to not knowing what you mean.

"The Crying Game" was a movie from 1992 starring Forest Whittaker and with Jaye Davidson , the son of a Ghanian father, in the role of a tranny.
A very good movie, well worth watching.

I dont understand clearys idea of Ah Van at centre, especially when on the same side as Jones in defense

Fairly straight forward

Vatuvei, Locke > Ah Van as wingers

Ah Van > Ropati, Kirk as centres

We just don't have a lot of options at the moment

I dont mind paddy at centre, I think things got a bit stuffed up positionaly with Locke's inclusion. JRo was moved to his side as a protection measure and it all turned to sh*t last weekend when they panicked and stuck Mannering/Kirk in next to manu.
If JRo is to play centre, it has to be next to Manu.

Paddy will help out Locke (if he needs help).

Its all Tate's fault..

Quite like the team, my main thing was wanting Lance to start. I'd still prefer Jones off the bench, but we'll see how it goes- It's obvious Fein will only be back if totally desperate and pig flu wipes out other options or something like that.
As mentioned in another topic, I'm really hoping Lance can do well in #6-But would the management concede defeat if he does and put Moon in centre?

Very retro lookin halves combo! ;-)

I'm pretty happy with that team. As dangerous as Ropati is he really needs to have a break and try to get his game back on track. He's a vital part of the team when on form, but just hasn't played well so far this season.

I'd have looked at keeping Moon in the team as a centre though. I don't think he's a bad player at all, I just think he lacks the vision to effectively play in the halves at this stage.

I'm happy to see Lance and Stacey together in the halves though, it should give Lance the opportunity to present himself as a running danger throughout the match which should help our attack. He's quite good at hooker, but playing at fullback gave himself the ability to pop up in the line and make things happen. Which he should really be able to do at #6 too.

I'd just feel a little more comfortable with Moon, Fein or even Ropati in the team too. Lance doesn't have a great long kicking game so that puts lots of pressure on Stacey... At least Heremaia on the bench will offer some support when he comes on. Though I hope he comes on at hooker, I don't really like the idea of disrupting the halves by moving Hohaia to hooker when Heremaia comes on.

Moon was not dropped, he got a heavy concussion in the Sharks game, thats why didn't come back after half time, perhaps why he kicked on the second tackle as he was in la la land.

I hope your right mate, will be pretty bad for Locke's confidence if Ah Van and Jones are on his side in defense and trys get scored with three player overlaps against him. Would've personally gone for Brown/Lillyman/Mannering or even Hohaia over Ah Van.

Guys...over from Aussie for the week and will be keen to get to this game.

What's the best form of public transport? Head down to that bus depot at the bottom of Queen Street? Do they do game day buses?

you guys should win this - we are going through a pretty big slump, and Gids is out.

If you're in a big slump, we're on the Titanic. Sinking without a trace. All we need is some pansy song and some nice person throwing his arms out wide over the bow of the boat and we'll have it complete.
