Vuna is better then jimmy.
as solid as he is...he has no spark.
solidness will come with expierience.
spark wont.

Deadset LG, just when some of your posts were starting to make sense you go and do this...

Vuna is useless under the high ball, reads defence poorly and obviously has put on weight which is effecting what was his best asset - speed.

Jimmy is the rock that holds our backline steady. Calling for all flash and no substance in our outside backs means we would leak 20-40 points a game and there is no way I would want to see that happen considering only this year we have fixed up our D so well.

Jimmy a reserve grade winger? pfffttt get your hand off it champ. Without him we would have lost plenty of games this year, that is fact.

I'd personally love someone to line up the Folau v McManus stats, and then throw in Luke Covell as the 3rd comparison

Seriously.

Because it might make you think twice about comparing people ever again.

Yeah I had a little chuckle at that comparison too.

Jimmy is a great FGer but he is no Isreal Folau thats for sure.

i agree with the bold 100%. though vunas runs from our own half are awesome....as jimmys are also.
lol maybe i went to far when i called him a reserve grade winger.
i just really see something in
1.kids
2.uate
3.wes
4.sau
5.vuna

maybe develop vuna into a second rower? lol he runs hard enough is strong enough has proven to have a great offload, just needs to work on his D.

I think the game on the weekend has proven that Sau and Uate make an excellent team on the left and Vuna would be much better off playing in the centres where he isnt expected to catch high balls (as it is he just lets em bounce which as a winger, is simply not on).

So,

1. Kids
2. Jimmy
3. Vuna
4. Sau
5. Uate

Makes a tonne of sense to me

yeah cant disagree with that. is vunas defence up to it though?

Defence in the centres is not really rocket science, just stay with your man and smash him when he gets the ball. I think reading the play on the wing, when to come in and when to stay out, when to play the ball or play the man, etc are a little beyond vuna tbh. Limiting the decisions he has to make would work wonders I think.

Jono I'm glad our administration don't see the similarities that you do between McManus and Folou. Would hate to be paying $400k a year for Jimmy.

Saying that there is definately a spot for him in the backline.

1. Gidley
2. Uate
3. Sau
4. Wes
5. McManus

I'd have that backline next year with Vuna being able to slot straight in as soon as there is an injury to any of those 5.
