Team v Parra?

Vuna is very much a damaging ball runner this year?

Just not as quick. He needs to fix up his catching and lose a bit of weight and get his pace back.

Then he could be another damaging attacking winger.

i just feel he's lost a lot of sting in the back half of this season. seems a bit overweight and disinterested.

another thing - after having a look at the parramatta team sheet... i'm about 10 times more confident this week. put simply, their team is a dogs breakfast. hopeless. our forwards should dominate them even worse than we dominated souths' forward pack.

Hagan didn't name anyone in jersey 18 - went straight from 17 to 19. So either he can't count, or he's saving 18 for someone like Mateo

Yet in two weeks Uate has scored three tries standing outside Sau, who can't pass for his life.

MacDougall is the best centre at setting up his winger in the whole club. He has by far the best line-break assist record of any centre in the NRL this season. He bumps off tacklers and sets up his outside men all the time.

To try and heap McManus's inadequacy in attack on MacDougall is completely unfair.

Sau passes well, evidenced by Uates first try coming directly from his hands, so I dont agree with you there.

It may have been harsh to implicate Maddog, I withdraw his name from the above post, but I stand by my statement that Lulia and Wes have some of the worst hands and the least try assists of any back in the club and likely the league.

For all their flaws, Tighe and Carmont knew how to set up a winger and Jimmy reaped the rewards last year. This year he has been starved of the ball and touches it far more out of dummy half then he does on the end of the back line, not very conducive to scoring trys.

That was just an overlap. No setting up to be done. If he hadn't executed that simple catch-pass I don't know what I would have done.

If only you were here last year.

Don't say that :fist:

I expect Mateo to play as well and I also expect Parra to put in their best performance of the year. I'm just very wary of a side like theirs that should be going better than they are.

The thing we have in our favour is we've established something in the last few weeks to build on in defense and attack. Parra are still a rabble.

i know i shouldn't be saying things like that... i just can't see that parra team getting up for anything but a deep fried breakfast, mateo or no mateo. they've been positively dreadful lately.

having said that.. if there was a game this season they would get up for it would be this one.

What overlap? I talking about Akus 1st try against the Sharks. Sau beat 2-3 players with his strength then threw a miracle offload straight to Uate back on the inside to score.

If only you were here last year.

Our wingers got far more ball last year than they have so far this year, your kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Sorry thought you meant last week.

Personally I don't count catching a bomb and offloading as setting up his outside man.

I know they did. Tell that to all the idiots who crucified Tighe last year for never passing.

Agree with you there champ, Tighe had some pretty piss poor defence but the lad sure could draw and pass well.

Those were the days - JM and I engaged in a never ending battle with Gene and most of the forum about Tighe. It went on for months.

Tighe's ability with ball in hand was always under-rated. Yes he had some struggles in defence, but in attack and ability to link with others I'd have him back over Naiqama and Lulia.

Not to mention the Thaiday saga.
