Leilua and Kata should be a good battle in the centres. Leilua is probably one of the most robust centres in the NRL and his try assist, line breaks stats I'd imagine to be indicative of an attacking handful. He also has with him a cohesive pairing in Rapana and they work together well to make sure when one sets up something, the other will see it result in a try or yardage and that's something Leilua has over Kata that hopefully Kata emulates with Manu.

Hodgson is the form NRL hooker at the moment IMO. I liken his game to that of the Roosters Jake Friend in that the things they do well in are similar, and style of play too. So his clash with either Tevaga or Luke should bring out the best of the three hookers as I'm sure Luke and Tevaga know about Hodgson and will do their best to make him look like he ain't shit.

We got them in the forwards IMO. They got Vaughn who's a solid go forward as well as Papalii who's coming into form now. Jeff Lima, Soliola I'm not sure if they're playing but if they are that should level things out a bit. Other than that our sets should have the better platform with our metre eaters doing just that.

Lolohea coming into the halves and hopefully partnering up with Johnson will be our strength in attack. Hopefully we see Tui, Shaun and Fusitua start to build a spine for our backline attack. Fusitua is great in the air but can he ball play pass left and right? Like to see Lolohea with more of the ball sparking up his fellow Tongans on the left with Kata and Manu receiving off whatever disarray Tui causes the Raiders defence. That way it'll take some pressure off Johnson.

Watching the games. Most of the guys you named in your "spoon team" are holding our defence together.

But again, you don't agree, so be it.

Name your team, I'm really curious to see that.

I'll bite so you can reload and shoot, With what we currently have id do this.

1)Fusitua
2)Lolohea
3)Johnson
4)Kata
5)Wells/Roache
6)Leulaui (Hingano if I thought he was ready)
7)Lino
8)Gavet
9)Luke (Plays 80mins) no excuses
10)Vete
11)Lane
12)Hoffman
13)Tevaga

14)Sipley
15)Matulino to interchange with Tevaga
16)Vatuvei (plays as prop)
17)Maumalo (2nd rower and back cover) - though I would accept lillyman or Mannering filling the bench role on less minutes)

id sign 3 or 4 itm cup players as well and start blooding them in reserve grade. The jnrs look terrible this year.

Who are these metre eaters you speak of - we only have Lillyman and Matulino, and your mate thinks Lillyman is a reserve grader (Queensland selectors disagree)

The Canberra pack is better than ours in terms of go forward but we can match them - Soliola has a broken arm

Gavet - FFS, yeah he's a better prop than Lillyman

And yeah, Ayshford has been awful...

You left Hoffman in, you missed an Australian and or someone who can play at a consistent level week-to-week, your goal seemed to be replace them with nuffies or kids who will be dominated

This team would get destroyed. Weak backline on defence. Roche and Lolohea would get jumped over and bowled over on the wing. Lino will crap his pants when he starts to feel the pressure which will be straight away.

Lion's team: You've got about half the team out of position, and stacked pretty much all of our worst defenders in there.

Who's doing all our on-field kicking, Lino?
Leuluai isn't up to it, so Lino has to do all our half playmaking duties too, tough break kid!
Matulino isn't a prop anymore?
I thought you hated Luke too?

If in that team our halves by some miracle find our backs, we'd actually (maybe) rack some decent points up. But defensively, wow, scary.

Thanks for your endeavours to look for something in my post to criticise but not mention all my other good points, pfft.

Compared to the Raiders forward pack, trust me our forwards will make good ground collectively. Remember this thread is Canberra vs Warriors and my post is specific. I'm not sure of the forwards yet cos they're not named.

I disagree and you might want to check the posts on this forum regarding Canberras go forward, as Raiders fans not happy (to say the least) with their forwards. They struggled against the Dragons to get into the Dragons 20 for awhile in their game last week a team our forwards did well against.

If none of those guys can defend then none of them should be playing NRL - simple. The coach and board should be fired if we select players for first grade who cant tackle. Thats ridiculous when its your profession. So I dont buy into that super tackler bullshit.

Not sure if you have been watching but Matulino is not Matulino anymore, he isnt hacking prop, he has always been a back rower so lets run him wider and allow him to return back to dynamic best. Ivan screwed him by converting him to prop.

Lino has a very good kicking game, not as long as johnsons but far more accurate. He is quite capable player who hasn't been given a fair shot.

I dont hate Luke, im disgusted by how he let him self go. More than likely due to outside factors. Quickest way to get Luke back into the saddle is to force him to play 80mins week in, week out - no interchanging for Luke, and he will come right.

Gavet has talent, he just needs to get selected a few more times in the run onside to develop further. His massive upside is his dynamic and aggressive ability. Something Lillyman really lacks. Gavet has upside now, lillyman doesnt. Gavet could be an NRL prop for the next 4 to 6 years at the Warriors if given the chance.

Gavet is rubbish...

Lillyman is strong and aggressive, makes tackles, makes big metres - that is upside and better than whatever you think Gavet offers

Really? thats your expert opinion? absolutely garbage!!!

Lolohea is the best winger we have currently, he has excelled well and truly on the flank.

Lino is as cool as ice, he will do well if given the opportunity again, He is a traditional half. Not a Thurston but better than SJ I assure you.

Roache and Wells have speed and hunger, if they cant defend then drop them and bring your Jono Wright back.

Makes big metres every game? 1 in 3? 1 in 5? once in a season.

Like a senior warriors told me personally, Lillyman is the strongest in the gym but not on the field.

Gavet is most definitely not rubbish, just needs to be developed further and believed in. He is an athlete and capable of much better.

Most of them can't defend, so whoops, time to fire the coach and board!

What else we got, Ivan destroyed Matulino? Mutts was in his career best form under Ivan.
He might be fine as a back rower too, but he's a solid prop. Or is he not 'dynamic' enough?

Did you see Luke's 80 minute 'performances' this year?

I dunno man, if this isn't a piss take ...
