Full credit to Smith for dropping Burt. He is out of form and playing poorly. Although I do agree he could have been selected on the wing for sideshow, but Im not so disappointed he wasn't. Burty will be back in 1st grade no doubt about it, hopefully with a big rocket up his you know where!!!]

Dykes has to be the next on the drop list!! Too many chances

People have been crying out for Smith to do what he did in the early successful days - drop players who don't perform.....well Dykes went to the bench for some poor form and Burt is now in PL.

I've always been a Burty fan and I think he seems unsure at centre...he played a couple of good games at fullback this year, but he seemed to go quiet since Buderus smashed him when he made that break in the Newcastle game....and MacKinnon has been one of our best of late - no way he can be moved.

Ash has been proven but with the injury cloud over him, could he be a smokescreen for Harris???

Harris???

I think Ben Harris is still a Bulldog... Ben Smith on the other hand (who I assume you meant)...

I like Graham in the centers - he is a classy player and that is his natural position. I just hope he's fully confident again

agreed burty's not performing in centre. but as we've all seen, he's not a centre, he's a winger/fullback, so surely its not entirely his fault he's playing badly, he's out of position.

same with dykes and wagon, i expect a cracker out of them this week, because their back in position!!

Agreed he wasn't performing however he did spend most of his time OUTSIDE Grothe. He didn't see too much ball that way but what little he did get he did next to bugger all with it - his six touches of the ball brought up only 16 metres regardless of how many metres he gained going sideways and to be honest I don't think that was what he was told to do at the start of the game. He did a lot of work in defence but still there was little of his incisive runs from dummy half..... and that has been over the last few weeks not just Sunday.

While Petersen did some things wrong he did carry the ball quite a lot, and obviously did enough to warrant his spot. I think Burtie is much better suited out on the wing where he can use his broken field running to its best advantage and with some time in reggies I think he will come back and put pressure on Sideshow to hold his spot.

This just shows that I'll have to start just following the Parramatta Premier League side. They are awesome and now they have Burt I like the look of them even more.

My favourite Premier League side would be:

1. Luke Burt
2. Matt Gruszka

Parra's most loyal player was dropped....yet Matt P@#$%^&n remains after one of the worst first grade performances i've seen from a player.

I'll throw my 2c in and say Graham is a smokescreen. Saw him at the Rose and Crown 3 weeks ago and he wa on crutches. Could be a miraculous comeback, but more likely Mateo or Smith will play.

Either way I will be happy. I'm not too disappointed with the Burt dropping thing. Wouldn't mind him on the wing, but just as long as he he doesn't have to play in the centres where he was struggling. A run in Reggies at centre might be what he needs to find his footing before making a comeback.

Like him or hate him, Matt Petersen goes looking for the football. Luke Burt does not. That's why 1 is in first grade and the other isn't.

With regards to Luke Burt's "natural" position, IMHO it is wing. Him and Moodie were a fabulous wing combination. Although he's great in open field running, he makes too many errors to be a good fullback.

It wouldn't surprise me if Graham is a smokescreen I just find it interesting that he would be used as one considering he himself wouldn't excatly be considered a nautral pick due to the amount of time he has missed it would have seemed a lot easier/smarter to name someone like Burt, Kativerata or Wagon in the centres if there was to be a smokescreen.

To be honest I was actually expecting a smokescreen to be created for Graham's return to the top grade when it did happen.

There is a 3rd options and this might be stretching things a bit but it's 3:10am and my brain isn't working normally (not that it ever is :D )

Graham will actually play but so will Ben Smith

This will be achived by either JUnior Langi or MAtt Petersen dropping back to reggies and then if Lanig Smith partners Graham in the centres or if Petersen then either Langi or Graham play wing.

My problem with the dropping of Burty, is the fact that he was dropped before Langi.

Surely he is a better prospect than Junior Langi.

burt is not 1st grade material, cant kick goals and is no better than hodgo, he will not make the 1st grd side at parra and will leave at the seasons end, yes why does everyone cry over him

They re-signed him for two years at the start of the season along with Ashley Graham..... ;-)

BTW Hodgie has been the one small shining light in recent weeks with the Tiges and was unlucky not to be back in the Blues squad IMO. The change has seemed to have done him well........ ;-)

Picture this scenario..........Its the grand final.....parra are currently leading 16-14, Wille Tonga makes a break down the sideline for the doggies, and is going for the corner, here comes hodgson to try and stop him from 8metres out......what happens next........Wille Tonga goes over a speed HUMP to score!

Hodgson was actually one of my favourite players, his attacking ability is brilliant and support play is awesome, but when it came to the crunch, his ability to stop opponents close to the line was non-existent, which is why looking at it in hindsight, letting go Schifofske was probably the biggest mistake parra have made in the past 5years.........and it still hurts!

That being said aside from the game against us Choc has done next to bugger all this season - he really is struggling at Canberra after some very good seasons.

The thing is we all have 20/20 vision in hindsight.

Actually, I was wrong. I didn't need hindsight to see Hodgo was a speed hump. I witnessed it firsthand. He was just lucky that parra was a very impressive attacking team, and that his poor defensive skills never got noticed as much.
