Sifakula, Halasima and Laban have to be given a chance and a lot of game time. Surely they will be a big part of next season and no better way to prepare then to play big minutes in the last game of the season

What are the eligibility rules for NSW Cup? Presumably we can’t stack it with our top guys?

I'd imagine that you could drop anyone to the NSW Cup in the regular season.
I think the rules kick in come finals- you have to have played a certain amount of games for them to play etc

Honestly, I don't care much now. That sucks. I'll still watch it, but I'm not massively passionate about who should be in the 17.

Last week really flattened me, as a fan. I thought it was all style and pomp and bullshit, and no substance. I found it really insulting, actually. Like they cared more about a party for Shaun than they did about keeping standards up, winning a game and building to next year. This is a team game. I'm probably getting carried away, but I hated it.

#metoo. I'm back where I was in the long, dark past. Where I wouldn't go across the road to see first grade play.

An 'SJ' memory from Shark Park.

2016 and I'm a hardcore Warriors fan, voting with my feet. Public transport from Katoomba to Woolooware, and deep 'in the Shire' for the first time ever.

We were good, led early, let them come back, but not by too much. 18-all, golden point. Our first set was average, theirs good, Maloney was always slotting the winner.

'Up! Up! Cronulla! From all four sides and I've got a four-hour hike home on a Saturday night, in winter.

I stuck around long enough to see our guys thank the fans. Johnson got mugged, lapped it all up, selfie-heaven for him and gullible fans. We lost. He should've been hurting.

100%.

I fully understand that SJ deserves the send-off, but the way it's happening while he goes on a career-worst run of defeats is an elephant in the room that is getting bigger and bigger.

This guy is going to go out on 10 straight defeats while he and everyone around him ignores that fact to the bitter end. It's honestly quite a grim spectacle.

It's one of the reasons I am uncertain of Webster's coaching acumen.
Allowing SJ to have such a bad run, Continually picking Jazz. Fluffing about with RTS. No sensible introduction of reserves into the top team. The list goes on.
Winning coach-of-the-year last year appears to have been good luck rather than good management.
Things need to change next year.

This is my impression of SJ. Loves the spotlight too much, I think it might have got in the way of him being the player he could have been. So much ability, but was happy to not go to Everest but instead, sit halfway down, take the selfies and bask in a job reasonably well done. That seems harsh for a guy who had his highs in the game, but I've always felt that way, and certainly Friday night confirmed that for me.

Amen. I actually think a lot of players wouldn't have allowed that - Simon Mannering didn't milk it like that in his 300th, Tohu won't and he's achieved it all in the game, basically, RTS won't, the likes of McCaw/Carter etc didn't, either. I love a humble champion and there was nothing humble about Friday night, especially coming in such a poor season.

If I'm the club, to be honest it's probably well done from a marketing standpoint. And it would've been great fun for bandwagon and 'I love everything they do' fans. But as I say, I hated every minute of it, even during the week at SJ's presser when he said to the media 'this better be good, it's my last one'. Milked it too much, I reckon.

Every coach has a mud season...but having said that, nearly every bit-part coach has a decent season - read Matt Elliott 2010 with the Panthers, to 2nd in the regular season (then two straight losses out).

So yeah, 2025 is a huge proving ground.

I'd be fine to see some young wingers tried...even Graham-Taufa on the wing.

I like the look of this team. They even have a faint chance of winning. Reckon they would win if Martin, Halasima and Roache replaced Johnson, Jazz and Lussick. Yeah I know Martin is not available through injury, just dreaming. Halasima and Roache are a possibility to play however

Geez that team list is unimaginative, the only excitement comes from the changes forced by RTS’s absence. Hopefully at least means the NSW Cup side can go well.
