All I know is that if we start next year with CHT & Kodi as the halves pairing we will do no better than this year.
We need a top class organising half.

Agree - on current form. But CHT needs more than 2-3 games after the lay off. Youd have to give him the rest of the year to cement his place. Walsh was signed as a fullback, so need CHT to cement his half position otherwise if Walsh moves to half, we're a fullback short.

Lol, and the Brown puts Walsh on the bench again.

I mean, it’s likely to change before kick off but man it’s annoying when he says one thing and does the other

Jesus.

Brown you moron.

Walsh is our number 6. Kodi to 7. Chanel to reserves.

Chanel was supposed to be out injured for 12 weeks but he's appeared to have come back early and really stuffed our season up. You could argue that's not entirely his fault though.

it's not his fault the coach picks him... I've never got the love for Brown, did well in the UK, was poor with a talented Dragons side, and was shit with Newcastle, bought a squad and brought through precious few of their talented juniors...

mindful that we need to look after both Walsh and CHT as they're both very very young, but clearly Walsh has shown a lot more in 1st grade in fewer chances, not getting why CHT is an automatic choice... nor Nikorima too, just don't see him as a solution in anyone's halves

Yeah... we aren’t winning a Comp with a halves combo of CHT and Kodi.

Walsh needs to be there and we need to buy a new fullback

I dont know what has happened to Katoa this year.. I hope its not Browns coaching team he assembled around him that has caused Katoa to regress.
The guy was a weapon last season and i would much rather have him running onto passes from Walsh than someone like Curren. It bothers me that he cant make the team.

100% - aren’t there family reasons for CNK to come back to NZ? Or how about the fill in Melbourne full back who is looking for a team for next year

Nicho Hynes is off contract.

We need to throw money at him.

I doubt cnk would come back

Reece is 18. He’s young,” he told media on Wednesday.

“People probably aren’t aware of it but he played two years ago at the end of the year for the Australian Schoolboys. Last year he didn’t play and he’d played two or three Q Cup games before he got to us.

“So for an 18-year-old to have only three or four games of footy in 18 months, then to become a starting first-grader in one of our more demanding positions is probably a little unrealistic or not fair to do every week.”

Brown added the club is “fortunate” to have a player with “Roger’s resume” who is willing to move to free up a spot in the side for Walsh.

But he adds that the club will “continue to manage him the best way we feel”, revealing he feels a sense of responsibility to the youngster’s parents.

“I do get when people watch him come on and see what he does and think I’m a bit of a dumbo,” he said.

“I’m happy to cop the medicine. Reece’s parents took a big punt on coming to us, so I’ve got an obligation to protect him somewhat.

“Am I overprotecting him? Maybe a little bit. But he’ll certainly start some games for us.

We want to win now but we’ve also got a kid who’s got a lot of years in the game.

Those comments and in particular the reference to Walsh’s parents changed Mannah’s mind.

“My view just changed in the last 30 seconds,” he said on NRL Tonight on Wednesday.

“I was of the opinion, get him in the team, he’s playing great, you’re a better team when he’s on the field, why wouldn’t you have him there?

“But watching that it’s actually coming from a good place that he wants to protect him and hearing that he owes it to his parents goes a long way.

I respect the approach Brown /Gould are taking with Walsh after hearing him explain his reasoning and position behind the decision.

No more complaints from me.
