I still backed Kearney to be able to do a good job for us.
On the basis of what though?

He was appalling with the Eels, and apparently ok as an assistant to two of the greatest coaches ever to coach

We've seen other coaches who's had success at rep level (Meninga, McLennan and others) who's been poor in 1st grade...

I was optimistic for the sake of it re: Kearney, and he's proving me wrong as expected. He's an absolute spud and we're gone this season, we're easily the weakest minded team in the competition

I can't see kearney ever being sacked...it would be the end of the warriors if they kicked another coach....the public backlash would be huge......i spose they could pay him to have a breakdown and quit himself....need to get back to sydney...family, family etc.....he's another that needs to go but its just too big a call....we gonna be stuck with old marbles im sure.

If they don't bite the bullet and sack him we're only going to spiral further down as a club, it's now painfully clear he hasn't learned or changed a thing.

It won't happen this season for sure and probably not for another year because "he needs time".

Till then, in the process we trust.

I just read the team sheet and am still having trouble digesting it. I know "keep the faith" is dead but no ones told Steve that ,because we all know blind faith= not getting two points

He's going on about wholesale changes, few are arguing for that, just making a couple of players accountable for the disgraceful shit they've produced, and not dropping the likes of CNK and Ayshford as a gestures to appease those wanting change

He'll make the hard calls whe needed... sounds like a Tui billboard.

Sooner or later they're bound to play ok against a good team, then he'll be ok to talk about things

Well, it was good enough for Foran. .

Well as crap as he is, there is no point at replacing Kearney unless a really really good proven coach is lined up and ready to go. Else it will simply be rinse and repeat. So we are screwed basically.

13 rounds in, and the justifiable, dead serious discussion of sacking another coach has arisen.

Sigh.

The CEO will go first, his job is untenable. He's said too many times in the past that results fall on his shoulders, and that's three (?) years of under-performance. As much as I like Jim as a person and he's been a strong business man, he's not a football club CEO.

Then it's up to whoever comes in next. Given McFudd is still on the payroll, good luck getting Kearney out of a job early.

Stephen Kearney is our reality until 2019, folks.

To be fair apart from Foran , Kearny's stuck with the squad Cappy had assembled so while I winge I'll also wait and see what sort of squad gets thrown together for next year, however if they resign Thompsom and a few others off contract based on current form I really think it's time to stop following the side.

You make it sound like Kearney had no choice. To me, that shows Kearney can't come up with combinations of his own. Kearney is the coach and he chose to stick with Cappys team when he didn't have to. It does make me wonder if hangin around Cappy too much influences his decisions.
