1. Kris Inu - No other option, Hayne, Burt, Tautai all need time in the lower grades
2. Iwi Hauraki
3. Ben Smith - Hopefully he is back
4. Joel Reddy - The only current back who deserves to keep his spot
5. Eric Grothe - does less bad things and more good things then Tautai
6. Kris Keating
7. Daniel Mortimer - If back if not, James Mahoney
8. Tim Robinson
9. Matt Keating
10. John Mannah
11. Nathan Hindmarsh
12. David Baumann - Deserves a chance
13. Feleti Mateo - Hasn't done anything wrong at 5/8 but needs to move to allow more important changes to happen
14. Tony Williams - Can fill centre and even the back row is also a handy goalkicker with if needed
15. Todd Lowrie - Not that it's saying much but he was one of the better players vs Souths
16. Broderick Wright - Can't be worse then the current cra*
17. Jeremy Latimore - Can't be worse then the current cra*
I personally can't see any justification in bringing up too many 20s players, and you have brought up 6 of them. I can't see that the halves and props are going great guns and the rest of the team is causing us to lose.
Perhaps wenty are a different story because at least they are winning. But quite simply the greatest danger in assessing form is that you are looking at very different form lines. The QLD and NSW cup are a big step below and the 20s is just as far if not further. You only have to watch a game and see which players carve up at that level who do nothing at nrl level.
I watched the qld cup game on the weekend, northern pride vs Easts. Now Matthew Bartlett who you should know, has played a fair bit of nrl for the cowboys, he looked amazing for the pride, busting tackles at will. He has only ever been an average nrl player.
I think we look at our current side and simply target guys who are going pretty poorly or have never shown much in the first place. I do think class will rise to the top eventually, but don't mind the option of a week or two down a grade to remind people they need a good attitude.
I have not watched any wenty games so I bow to others opinions there, but the 20s matches I have seen I think Tim Mannah is the guy who is a class above and it does not suprise me their form died when he got injured. Obviously Tony Williams has a tonne of class too, just lacks intensity. The outside backs used this year seem to be up and down, by the way what happened to Rea. The halves well I think Mortimer looks good, but needs to develop further. KK, I still think he looks like a hooker, he just lacks direction. He just looks like a lower grade half out of the wing, marsh mould. They lack the play making ability to be a genuine top class half, but it makes them very good hookers.
The other one is probably Baumann, he looks keen, but is he the type of player we need.
For mine, I would have
1. Hayne/Burt
2. Grothe
3. Ben Smith
4. Reddy
5. Inu
6. Mateo
7. Finch
8. Cayless
9. Keating
10. Fui Fui
11. Hindy
12. Riddell
13. Chad
14. KK
15. Williams
16. Cordoba
17. Tim Mannah
Riddell to play backrow full time, and the keatings to rotate at hooker.
