I remember Clayton Friend quite well..it mightve been him and the commentators might have just mixed up the names and called him Daley. Not sure though and I give up now cos I find ANYONE named Daley Daly Daily for the Bears.

Never forget the test we won in Melbournes Olympic Park against the Aussies. Clayton Friend played a big part in that game. I was going for the Aussies because I hadnt heard of any of the Kiwi players, actually Freeman was the only one I knew. We were MASSIVE underdogs. That Kiwi team taught me that anythings possible. Magical night it was..

I remember that game well.

Lonergan got knocked out in the opening minutes and was unconsciously doing the haka

Jarrod McCracken debuted and scored a try and set up Blackmore for another.

Friend scored a try in that game.

It was Paul Hauff's first and last game and Wally Lewis' last as well.

We got pumped in game 2 and 3

That was the day Hauff's career in general died.

Tall rangy guy with a big stride, he earned his rep jumper, but when everyone discovered his weakness he just never recovered.

Probably one of the worst debuts possible until Lockyer equaled if not trumped it. Of course being the champion player it didn't kill his career.

Yep I was a fan of the Broncos back then so I was expecting Hauff to carve up as he was one of my favourite Broncos.

Lonergan played on to star in that first test win!

Pumped 44-0 in the second test, with McCracken - our great new star - and Jackson sent off together early which broke up the rythym of the test. Outclassed at Lang Park in the third 32-12, but another superb try by McCracken kept us keen early on.

40-12 from memory
