Team vs Raiders

He is a quality player. His slight frame could see him get injured easily.

Remember Benji's first few seasons?

We can't afford to have that happen with Moses

I don't think Benjis injuries were from being too small and in general i don't think small players are more injury prone.

The thing is its a really hard thing to judge or know until you give them a shot.

No. Its actually pretty easy to judge.
Needs size for injury prevention and strength for defence.

For arguements sake......could play Teddy in the line and Moses at the back.
Actually........could be feasible....

Surely thats some sort of joke. Reasons why that is a bad idea.

1) Teddy has extensive injury history himself, why put him in the front line and risk him further?
2) Moses' positioning would be worse than Teddy's.
3) Moses' ability under the high ball would be MUCH worse than Teddy's.
4) Moses would be unable to organise the defence like Teddy would.
5) Teddy's speed and kick returns would be nullified.
6) Confuse & Stunt the development of both players.
7) Disrupt the on-field dynamic of the team ie. who does what and when.

All good reasons. I really dont know if he has he ability to adapt easily and slot straight in at he back just for defence.

Probably not....but maybe he has the skillset to do it...
Just an uninformed suggestion.

I definately see where you are coming from, if he was to be shifted anywhere in defence it would be wing rather than fullback. In Benji's early years he was often shifted to the Wing in defence, which COULD be a viable option for Moses. In that vein, I reckon that Marshall being shifted in defence worked because he was surrounded by experienced players and great defenders ie. Galea, O'Neill, Laffranchi etc. In our side we don't really have work horse tacklers who could shield Moses on the edges. Therefore in my opinion, we have to bide our time until he is ready to cope on his own.

Although, he is still a much better option than Anasta...

Doesn't matter what we on the forum think, barring injury, Anasta will be 6 until round 26, his career will finish the same day as Tigers 2014 title hopes

I hope not. I forecast a Friday night hiding at Brookie two nights after Origin 3. Id almost wear a hiding that night if it meant no more Braith.

I'm still holding onto hope that the plan is keep Anasta in the #6 jersey until Farah returns from Origin, at which time Austin will get the #6 jersey for the rest of the season.

I reckon we should just do what we did with Brooks last year. As long as it doesn't affect our finals hopes, give Moses one FG game by the end of the regular season.

It means that he will go into 2015 knowing he has popped his cherry and will be much more confident during pre-season. I'm thinking game against the Sharks at the end of the year.

Totall agree. Give him a taste and he will work even harder in the offseason when he realises how far he has to come in a short time.

Benji's upper body was very slight, and he was running up and trying to put shoulder charges on blokes 30 kilos heavier than him.

Benji in his early days wasn't scared to get involved defensively. But after a few shoulder ops, he became scared in defence.

Moses is very willing in defence. I'd hate for him to follow the same above storyline that happened to Benji.

anasta will be the six till he retires the monday before the finals begin. As we will finish closer to the bottom of the league than the top. Our chances of making the eight are zero with our current backline set up. I think we are a fifty fifty bet of beating the Raiders at best and after that heavens knows where the wins will come from

Thats it .. but the sad thing is there are simple solutions available to avoid that scenario :( .

I do not want to Potter bash as I think he did a great job at breaking down a lot of the Sheenisms that were holding the club back, but as I have said before, Potterball is all about trying not to get beaten rather than trying to win and in some cases I think he knows the team will not win but puts plans in place to limit the damage.

This team has been way off the pace since the Parra game and he keeps giving the same team the same game plan. At what point will he decide he needs to have a fresh look at things. REally after the Souths game, how could he pick Lawrence or Anasta??????

I have said it before their is no plan B

I drove past Concord oval today and saw the boys were training and couldn't help myself but stop and have a look.
Our physio bloke was working with Gavet stretching his leg on an elastic thingy. He looked quite flexible, but still had his right thigh bandaged up. When he finished, he walked away without a limp of any sort.
Then saw Paterson, and said to him that it must suck being out so long over just a finger. He pointed to his palm and said the surgery impacted his hand more than just a finger. He said the boys were giving it to him deluxe being out of action because of his finger, not even a man's injury like a hammy or pec !. His hand was in a brace that looked more long term than not.
I didn't realise Tedesco is so big !. He looked to be only a couple of inches shorter that Richards, and has really developed his upper body.
Moses, on the other hand looked like someone's little brother that tagged along for a run with the boys. He's got the skills, but his body is nowhere near NRL size yet.

I don't know why the rap on Patterson, he is LAZY! Run at his inside shoulder within 10 metres of the try line and take your four points. I don't wish the bloke any ill but he needs to pick up his game a lot to make it as an NRL regular. Hope he comes good and proves me wrong but he had the same problem at prior clubs. He'd be an interesting proposition to play centre in place of Lawrence if he tightened up his D.

Brooks was ordinary tonight, really awful in defence was continually going in for the hit without wrapping his arms around his opponent was more like a turnstile. Not to worry young fella always next week, watch some Toovey vids during the week he'll show you how little fellas do it.
