On an unrelated note, the Storm-Broncos result last night puts a new shade on our victory over them.

Hah, was thinking much the same. We still pushed the Sharks into golden point though, that still counts unless they get smashed tonight :p

Roache played 7 minutes tonight. Worth having him in the 17? Surely we either give him more minutes in FG, or in the Intrust.

Yeah with Luke playing 80 I don't get the point of Roach at all.

I can't remember who it was, but somebody made some good points (in this thread, I think) about Roache, and his versatility and style of play, which are things that he potentially has over Tevaga. I said that I actually want to see him add something...some impact...well, we're not likely to see it if he plays for 7 mins.

The things is, now that Luke is lifting his game we don't really need Tevaga on the bench either. I can see why he's picking Roach right now because he's certainly more versatile cover injuries and such. Once our guys like SJ and Lolo get over these niggles they are carrying I'd like to see that bench spot taken by someone who can have greater physical impact. Not sure who that is though.

Afoa or siply give us no backs or hooker cover. Hingano would be good tho.

High price to pay for Maumalo, really...I mean, sure, he can slot on the wing. But Mannering can push out into the centres if necessary and Tui come in.

Unless we are thinking of playing him more in the middle of the park. I am more uneasy about that right now than I am with him on the wing.

Leuluai is probably a better hooker than a half anyway, if something happens to Luke.

If Manu is back after the bye, I'd drop Roche a d have maumalo in number 14

I don't want to say this (it pains me, actually) but I don't want Manu back. Or not right now, we look like we're on to something here without him.

While that's true, Tevaga owns Leuluai any day even if it's his preferred spot.

Yeah, but Tevaga doesn't offer any backline cover and now that Luke is playing more minutes, and playing well, the case for Tevaga is weaker, unfortunately

I'm only speaking of the case if Luke goes down, I'd put Tevaga at hooker and (sadly) leave Thomas at #6 because he'll never be dropped anyway. I prefer a gun hooker and average half, to a new half and an above average hooker. At least we've have real quality in one of those spots. We've seen TL at hooker too and it really wasn't anything that special tbh.

For now though yeah, Tevaga is surplus to requirements as good as he is.

Not sure he does, tbh. Don't get me wrong, Tevaga was impressive - but I rate TL very highly at hooker. Really just below the top tier of hookers.

I'd be putting Hingano in that final bench spot - can cover halves (with SJ still obviously not right) and hooker (by extension - TL moving to hooker). Outside back cover I'm not as worried about - we have backrowers that can slot into the centres if required, it's much harder to play with a makeshift spine player.

Plus, Hingano needs to get on the damn field.

He still offers some value. Kens been good, but jury is still out on him.

If equally be ok with ken at 5 and Manu at 14 with the same rejiging if a hooker/back/halve goes off

This game CONFIRMED Tuimoalas inability to really contest and defuse bombs. Ive seen him struggle a few times before and as a WINGER, bombs should be your fortay. Im not saying you have to be tall cos look at Nightingale, he beats guys taller than him. You just got to be a winger/outside back not a makeshift like Nikorima for the Bronx.

Titans coach mustve seen Tuis inability as well and put it down for his halves and wingers game tips.

It got to the stage where Fusitua had to come and cover Tuis side and thats just pathetic. Everyones got to play their part and FULFIL their roles given.

Thing that pisses me off about this is I had known Fusitua was a better fullback then Tui was ages ago. Thats because I knew Tui all his life was a half then he gets to the NRL and becomes a winger/fullback. He played well at fullback and apart from defence he had no other reason to be taken away from that role.

I did however use to moan that by playing Tui at fullback it BLOCKS guys like Fusitua from playing for the Warriors who is an outside back all his life. NOW were seeing that Fusitua can play there and NOW we can see Tui cant jump its just stupid that Cappy couldnt see all this before. The other irony to this is Tui (by no fault of his own) who was blocking outside backs like Fusitua is now shuffled onto the wing and tonight he gets FUSITUA to cover HIS ass because he cant jump??

Tui did very well to score tonight, I think him and Fusitua swapped over in attack so Fus wouldve been gutted otherwise Tui didnt do much on the wing tonight. Manu comes back so I dont know who Cappys going to drop but it does look like Tui is on his way out based on his benching last week and his rather quiet game tonight and ofcourse his "exposed" inability to defuse bombs which Fusitua had to cover for.

Compared to Maumalo and Manu, doesnt offer as much on the wing. First thing we look at is of course the hit ups. Tuis side stepping hit ups will see him get driven back in finals footy. His very few hit ups tonight were crap, no real meters made. Again we do have wingers like Manu and Maumalo who will get us some good yards.

Tui is a good player and should be in the team but to force him away from his natural position and make him compete for another position where theres better qualified, might see Tui gone!
