Telecrap: Bottom of the pile when it comes to RL news

Thank you Daily Telecrap for your wonderful reporting of the Golden Boot Awards last night. Apparentley Darren Lockyer became only the second player to jag two Boots, but you wouldn't have known it after reading Dean Ritchie's report on the awards.

According to Dean the big story of the ceremony was Wes Naiquama winning a "major international award", but the win being tarnished because the police are beginning their investigations into his driving ordeal. Forget the headline being about Lockyer winning the real "major international award".

Thank you Dean and the DT for informing your many rugby league loving readers on the winners of all the other "major international awards" on the night too...not. Obviously rugby league fans are not interested in these things.

Good to see the Tri-Nations final about 10 pages in from the back as well.

What a dedicated rugby league paper it is.

I agree on the Golden Boot point, not on the positioning of the league.

There is something called "the Ashes" on this week apparently?

Yes and the Ashes deserves to be the number one story at the moment. Can't wait for it myself.

But I'm talking 8 or so pages back behind a double spread on the Wannabies and Greyhound racing.

Yes well I'd prefer to have it a bit higher too but it's not behind the greyhounds. From the back of the paper the left page is considered the more prominent.

To be honest though, even as a league fan I'm struggling to get that excited about the Test this week. I might watch long enough to see Mason v Kidwell early on but I've got other things to do and I'm not interested enough to put them on hold for it.

Y'know they are on about the Ashes at the moment and all days are sold out and it's the most eagerly anticipated series ever...

Out of 5 Tests do you think one will last past 4 days....

Most will be over by 3....

The Poms were lucky last year...

From what I understand the right hand page is always considered more prominent.

When you combine the Ashes and the Wes car story, the Tri-Nations hasn't got a chance in hell. Even Pacing/Greyhounds combined get's more space than than the good for nothing rugby league final and Golden Boot awards.

I'm surprised Wescar isn't front page.

Great work from "our official Swans newspaper"

Can't get any worse imo El. I'm sorry but Ritchie and Wilson partnership is like Dickman and Throbbin.

Jeff Wall's article on LU is just as bad, IMO.

What someone does in their personal life does not diminish what they did on the rugby league field.

Jeff Wall = GOOSE!

When I worked on the railways in the city, there'd always be a dozen found before someone scored a herald.
Clicking on foxsports.com is bad enough.

Havent bought a paper since I had the internet, except for semis month and GF week '05...
