It was all the effort plays that made him a champion in my books.

Like the way he lifted the team after the half time break in the 2010 Grand Final qualifier when we were trailling the tigpies.

His back to back effort plays led us to the grand final and ultimately the Premiership we so long desired.

Absolute Champion...

I’m watching a replay of that game right now(it’s on Fox). Nighty got the ball flat footed & outsprinted Tuqiri to get us up field. Young’s outside/inside ball to Nighty to score under the posts was a ripper.
Miss those days.
Thanks again Nighty.

Jason Nightingale had a knack for sniffing out a try during his Rugby League career and now it appears the retired St George Illawarra winger has mastered another skill – as a barista who can brew up a decent cup of coffee.

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues backrower Tyson Frizell took his infant son Axton to visit his former Dragons teammate and the player affectionately known as 'Gypsy' at the official opening of his new business, Flow Espresso, at the Dragons' spiritual home in Kogarah.

"@flowespresso officially opens today," Frizell posted on Instagram.

"Congratulations to @gypsy_no5 and @mark_somboli

"Best coffee in Kogarah."

Nightingale, 32, played 266 games for the Dragons and scored 110 tries before making the decision to retire at the end of last season, while fellow winger Nene Macdonald also moved on to North Queensland.

Zac Lomax and Jordan Pereira are tipped to fill the wing spots at the Dragons.

And to those who said Jason did not like the name Flo, what do you say now?

Goes to show that all this talk that, you have to earn all your money for your entire life whilst you are actually playing, is a load of crap.
He decided he would have a career after football and like all good people, he will do very well and he is still young and has a lifetime ahead of him.
It's a real shame some others actually still playing don't use Flo as a role model as he is a beauty.

He gave his all and competed against bigger faster wingers but rarely was out played .... LEGEND ...
100 % agree. But in the past few years the pace, required metre eaters and defensive side of the game passed him by. It shows you especially on speed and power positions you have limited time especially once you reach your 30's.
He used to be able to spindle out of tackles in hit ups etc without the pace.
But what never left him was his positioning in attack, ability to get the ball over the line and safety under a high ball. Smart footballer without the glitter.
