Um, yeah it is. 2004 - Dogs finished 2nd, Cowboys 7th. If the Cows had beaten the Roosters in the Major Semi (controversially went down by 3 points) then they would have faced the dogs in the decider.

True Forgot about that one Possible but improbable

Dragons- if they put Gasnier at 5/8, theyre gonna be sh*tt. He's not a 5/8, they should move Hornby to 5/8

What is a 5/8 Gasnier wont be traditional but he has played well on the left and right side of the field in his career and has become more dangerous playing down the middle as a support player

There is not much more to it if your hooker and halfback are good organisers

And what about his kicking game?thats right, no kicking game, no passing as well. I'll give you an example of a good 5/8, Darren Lockyer.

Tigers for the spoon. You Wish 1999. There is no way in the world the tigers are going to finish last. I think the tigers will finish between 4th and 8th. Any higher will be a bonus.

Tigers wont win the spoon, but the difference between you guys making the eight, and just missing it, will be marshalls fitness

6-11th but i predicted 8th

Passing game has always been there all he does is set up players or draw players away from him So has his short kicking game He has a big kick on him but would need work on setup and placement if he wanted to be one of the main kickers One of the closest in the field goal challenge on the footy show Would only need work to be a decent goalkicker too

But why would you need Gasnier to kick when you have hookers that can kick as well as a fullback and halfback at full strength He would be an option

If you go looking for another Lockyer you wont find one soon But he goes long stretches of the season not being able to handle playing first receiver and longing to be a support player or play wider Then looks great dominating the ball and playing first receiver

Gasnier just has to play wide and be a support player infield Make opportunities based on what the defence gives the team to work with This is already how Gasnier played this year He could still spend half the game trying to set up a winger or running the ball from dummyhalf It is not such a big step forward because of the way the team will play and the players around him

Did the Eels sign Lockyer Or a more talented player than Gasnier

We've got Finch, who is a much better 5/8 than Gasnier, then if he fails we've got a young guy called Blake Green who can play halfback as well. He's no Darren Lockyer, but he's got potential.

Who's your hooker, Simon Woolford? now what happens when Head gets injured are you now gonna rely on Woolford to do the kicking? Hornby has to play in the halves cause the Dragons used to have success when he was playing there.

I know Gasnier can create havoc in the middle on occassions in attack, but leave him where he's best suited, in the centres. Why fix something thats not broken?

Why dont you ask the colonel to justify his ''prediction'' souths halves will again be a problem , or ask SSTID to validate his guaranteed 'prediction" the Roosters will win the spoon.

Predictions chuck, fantasy, guesswork ...a bit of fun...look it up.

8. Nutley
9. Wing
10. Myles
11. Fitzgibbon
12. Flannery
13. Anasta

That is all the validation you should need.

Hes no Darren Lockyer So why are you judging Gasnier by that standard prior to seeing him play more than a few games All of which he played well when he had our structure around him

You wouldnt be backing Finch if he was with another team Not even Finch would know where he is best suited and how it will work with Smith They might look like two halfbacks most of the time

Hornby will play in the halves no matter where he starts the game It has been like that for a long long time Hornby has become our number one long kicker We have more options that just Woolford Just depends on who else is playing

Gasnier picks his opportunties as well as anyone around Inglis was saying the same during the Tri Nations

Why is he best suited in the centres because thats where you know him to play He has been easily isolated in the last two preliminary finals

We havent won a premiership in years so that needs fixing but it is moreso the next stage in Gasniers development Remember how he played back when he split time between wing and centre or how he played as a left centre soon after He is a very different player now

Another five years and the same will be said again even if he moves back to a position you are more familar with because someone else comes into the team New players who come into the team will dictate how we play It is no different this year

there is a player in every team who you could take out and watch them struggle, the only difference for the Tigers and Knights is that their key man is injury prone. If you take Lockyer out of the Broncos, you think they would of won the comp?

Doesnt look like a wooden spoon pack to me.
IF they all fire (maybe under a fresh coach they just might) then they will be top 8.

Add in Tupou, Shillington and Shackleton and dare I say it, it's one of the best packs in 07.

I'm not saying its bad, its just the worst in the league (there is a difference, for example 80% is not a bad exam score, but if everyone else gets atleast 81%, 80% is the worst). Compare it to the others and its a wooden spoon pack.

Souths will win the premiership with Joe Williams LOL, and John Sutton will win the Dally M.... you sing the same old song every year, buy a new record man.

No, we will really struggle to make the 8 and will more than likely finish in the bottom half of the comp. If we get a bit of luck we may finish in the 8, but I'd say we'll finish between 9-16th (we are in the same boat with about 8 other teams that may make the 8 or come last). To say we'll win the comp is fanciful, but thanks for your support!

I dont see how you can bag any team or line up after your clubs efforts over the last two decades. Asotasi is not the saviour he is just 1 great player, to compete in the NRL you need a solid bench and solid players from the PL to fill the injuries which every club suffers during the comp.... you guys have neither. I think the Roosters line up bench and juniors leave you for dust! get off the Rooster bashing..support your team and appreciate the league. Man as roosters fan I have nothing agaisnt you guys, I even hope to see you win a premiership one day, which I think you will but give your team a chance to rebuild..support it well and dont worry about the roosters LOL leave that to the rooster fans!

Lets not hijack this thread with Sydney vs Souths stuff. It is a prediction thread, and in my opinion Sydney has the weakest pack in the comp and suffer from a lack of forward depth. Therefore I predict that Sydney will win the spoon. I appreciate you not getting agro, most Sydney fans do if anyone so much as questions them.

Sharks don't have anyone like that, hell we played better without Kimmorley, than with him!

I predict Asotasi to do a Chris Walker...souths to get the spoon yet again, its like getting pissed and waking in the morning to find a nightmare next to you in bed.
