The former brewer of the Wig (Richard Watkins) has opened his own place, Bentspoke, on the other side of the city, and it's apparently pretty good too (I'm going to give it a go on Sunday).

I tried this place (Bentspoke) yesterday for a couple of middies and pub lunch. Beers (Barley Griffin and whatever the bitter is called) were excellent and nicely cooked rare sirloin. A fair bit shinier than the Wig but very well worth a visit for anyone stuck in Canberra for a day or two.
