Must be why we are seeing lower rates of both child sexual abuse and prescription of drugs to children, to coincide with declining church attendance.
Argh. Making shit up again.

What a load of crap, I know for a fact I will be living it up with dozens of virgins on a desert island.
The case has raised serious concerns among the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community, with allegations that chaplains religious beliefs make them illsuited to support young people struggling with their sexuality.

Teachers do a great job, but they dont have time to help kids who are disengaged or unhappy. Chaplains are non-judgemental and trained to listen and care theyre somebody whos there to support the student thick and thin, Mr James said.
He said the facts didnt support allegations that chaplains were trying to convert students to religion.
Around 2900 schools have chosen to have a chaplain, and in 2013, only one complaint nationally was received, Mr James said.
Whoops.
1 complaint about the work of the chaplains in 9 years? Across thousands of schools and hundreds of thousands of students??? HORRIBLE. How can they look in the mirror at night.
And some bozo in Queensland is trying to get rid of this because?
So will they
It said 1 complaint in 2013 not 9 years. Anyway it's not about complaints. It's about offering appropriate advice
The point is that schools should be able to choose if they go down the counsellor path or chaplain path. Why bitch about that ?
I'm wondering what beer I should have at the Wig.......
I have no issue with that at all - but the way you're carrying on it's as if the counsellor path is the only valid option.
I can't see what harm the chaplains are doing? They are only hired at the discretion of school principals, and (quite frankly) those guys determine the overall ideology of the school anyway. Seems to have been greater buy-in from them on the chaplain front as compared to the counsellor front?

You're out of touch OMC. You really think that the youth of today are happy to open up with a chaplain with regards to relationships, sexuality, drugs, suicide, bullying etc compared a social worker (counsellor) of their generation and in tune with their mindset ?
Surely the needs of the youth are more important than some f**ked up ideology concocted by middle aged white male conservatives ? They have no idea really who an Australian in 2014 is. Rather they just have an idea of who they want them to be.
