It can't be that hard to keep your nose clean.

Politics is a dirty game and you only have to see how mountains can be made out of mole hills when you get in the way. Peter Slipper was a merkin, but he was a necessary target when there is a slim majority. They are still after him about taking the company car to the Hunter IIRC.

One thing that the current ICAC hearings have revealed is that the pollies and random dodgy types are dealing with serious cash. Hundreds of millions are to be made with water rights and mining licences. Look out of you get in their way.
