I'm thinking the same thing Gronk. Usually when these things occur, they "stand down their position under things are sorted out/blow over" rather than resigning. In saying that, he comes across as one of the "more honest" politicians IMO. He's certainly no Tripodi or Obeid.

Its viewed as corruption regardless of how little it is, all he had to do was send it back and tell him that he couldnt accept it and then declare it and he'd still have a job

There's two issues. 1) Misleading the enquiry and 2) The identity of the donor, with respect to which the disclosure failure arose. Put 1 and 2 together and it's kapow.
