When you write as well as he does, singing well is optional. And besides, who decides what a good singer sounds like? 'The Voice' style singers who can hit 93 octaves within 10 seconds leave me very cold...

Would also disagree on musicianship. From the early days with members of "The Band", through to his current band, he has always surrounded himself with sh!t hot musicians. When you see him live, he is like a conductor, eliciting the best bluesy noise from his comrades. The respect that they show him on stage is a sight to behold.
