it was already a crappy situation. if that report is right then it seems more tragic (for the girl's friends and family and the cop that was put in a situation where he thought he had to pull the trigger).

batman (pre-bale) was a jerk. I put my wallet, phone and keys in my pockets and my belt struggles to keep my pants up. how batman can have grappling hooks, baterangs and rafts as well as a whole bunch of other crap in his belt baffles me.

re: the girl, I read something about her motions making it impossible to shoot at limbs (imagine if the cop missed and a bystander was killed). I asked a mate in the force about it years ago and he said they go for the torso because it's the largest target area and when other options don't or won't work.

Relax, you've made an assumption here that I am blaming the cop. From what I heard he/she was lunged at after negotiations failed. Accordingly, she most likely had no choice but to bring the girl down.

Ask the LNP, Alan Jones etc and we're 6 months away from Greece with their debt, deficit and intergenerational theft slogans.

Economists are now saying that the economy needs a boost, with an injection of cash. Plus they are saying that because cash is so cheap now, we'd be crazy not to borrow a $squintillion and start building a shit load of infrastructure. The investment of infrastructure and education has a huge flow on effect to our economy, they say.

Who's right ? I take the word of economists over Hockey. MY cynical opinion is that they are trying to force ideological change under the guise of austerity.
