As long as it doesn't taste like a sickly-sweet fruity white wine, but without the alcohol content to go with it, then I'm all for it. The cyanide's an interesting addition though.

It's often translated that way. But the original Hebrew specifically prohibited unlawful killing (murder). The same books (Exodus and Deuteronomy) allow capital punishment for f**ks sake. How you gonna dish out the death penalty if you're not allowed to kill?
I quite like it.....but never, never over do it....the worst hangover (think 'i can't feel my hands and feet') of your life.
There's cyanide in all apple seeds, which doesn't generally hurt us as the inside of the seed typically doesn't get digested and the dose is tiny anyway. Habitual, hard core, scrumpy drinkers have developed problems from the cyanide (as well as the alcohol). I used to run a pub for a short while in the SW of England.....some truly sad cases that I wouldn't serve....but they could just go straight over the road and get their fill.
Do you have sauce with that?
I'd forgotten that about apple seeds. Anyway, as to the patrons, have they never heard of a goon bag? Or are licencing laws very different over there? Our governments seem to prefer we get drunk at home, presumably because we're more likely to have a snooze than glass a stranger after a few drinks. That said, I'd still like the option of buying a beer in a 7-11 when I've run out.

In Sweden they sell light beer in süpermarkets. I suspect they do in plenty of countries.
Was there a fruit shop over there?

In Canberra they sell all types of alcohol in supermarkets.
Coles and Woolies only sell alcohol in their adjoining stores...liquorland and BWS. Aldi are the geniuses and put up a few higher shelves to act like a barricade in the middle of their stores so their liquor license is permitted in the actual supermarket unlike woolies and coles.
Woollies also owns Dan Murphy's.
Yep, which also sometimes adjoins Woolies. I've never seen the actual Woolies sell alcohol though as some people here are suggesting.
Agree. Lots of countries do however and interestingly do not have a teen binge drinking problem.
