I made the mistake of flicking through couple of weeks back, caught my eye as they were showing a ice hockey face off, now in this clip a bloke from one team, basically licked his opposite, there was old senile Shoddy, when asked if what would happen is AFL- His response was the bloke would flattened by his opposite - So this is so f**king deluded he thinks in AFL a fight would occur, not handbags at paces, which is what I observe in their game, and thinks Ice Hockey players are soft and do not fight.

Yes, I've noticed this delusional reference to AFL being somehow perceived as Australia's "tough" game! It's so far from the truth its almost embarrassing! Alot of people have been conned by the sleeveless tops and the highlighted accidental body clashes!

Many people do not understand that physical collision is the basic element of RL not a "by chance" accident! It's amazing but people are easily fooled when they don't know what really goes on.

I played Aust Rules for a training session when I was playing for a representative NSW team in Mebourne back in '93. It was fun but it definitely was not tough! The point being that I am yet to hear of an Aust Rules team ever playing RL for a training session?! Quite simply they(AFL players) would get hurt.

I will add that the skill of tackling someone around the boots or legs or body coming straight at you is an undervalued skill that many do not recognize. This skill of downing a player and not getting hurt is what Aust Rules players cannot replicate! This is learnt by RL players at a young age.

I watched 1/2 an episode for the first two weeks; haven't even flicked back since. It was abhorrent.

The panelists lacked sports knowledge - which is surely a prerequisite - they seemed to have a crap comedian on who provided nothing but bad jokes. And yes, it came across as an AFL love-in.

No chemistry and no in-depth interesting discussion.

In a nutshell it has gone from my favourite show on tv to the absolute worst thing on foxsports.

The thing I don't get with the Back Page lately is that they're all from the tabloid (Tele, Herald Sun) papers. There's never anyone from The Australian who would be less sensationalist.
