Concur with Matt Bowen. Good enough at his peak to play more games for Australia and Queensland, just unfortunate to come through at the same time as a lot of other great fullbacks.

Willie Mason deserves a mention. Had the potential to be the most damaging runner in the game, but aside from the odd game here and there where stepped up (including the '04 GF), was generally a lazy cream puff.

J.Monoaghan (Or however it's spelt). He's a "Playa" among the dog's and achieved the last in the regards.

Mason played for Australia and NSW. Just saying

John Sutton is reportedly very talented.........re: lazy cream puff

Thanks for all the replies guys. I can understand your sentiments re Matty bowen however I must admit that my post was constructed mentally from the point of view that something within themselves let their carreer down. E.G Willie Mason being a lazy bugger!...I did hear that MAtt Sears had a drug problem...I know things like that are negative but you can only imagine what some of these players could have done if they just had their shit together.

Who showed the most promise but delivered very little?

Kevvie McGuiness? Had some absolutely phenomenal games where his natural skills shone through but struggled to put it all together consistently and achieved nought rep-wise / premiership-wise.

jason taylor probably should have played more rep teams but when you had langer, stuart and johns in front of him it was probably a little difficult

David Peachey - One of the most influential players in his hey day. Never played for Australia and never won a premiership. Will likely be forgotten by most fans outside Cronulla in the coming decades.

Just putting it out there - how about Gallen?

Sure, he's got rep honour galore but - the guy has the biggest motor in the game, he plays his guts out week in week out, but he loses most of the games he plays. Club level for the Sharks at a time when they are considered the easy-beats of the competition. State level for NSW at a time when the most dominant QLD team ever put together is on a six-peat.

For all the work he gets through, for the way he plays every minute of every game, he's probably only got a career win percentage of about 35%.
Gallen:
Australia - 13 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses - 81.25%
NSW - 3 wins, 8 losses - 27.27%
City - 1 loss - 0%
Cronulla - 88 wins, 112 losses - 44%

Career total - 104 wins, 1 draw, 123 losses - 45.61%

Gallen's career win record is better than Tim Brasher's for example

Gallen will be remembered for captaining NSW and a few succesful Aus. tours.

And before it's brought up, Kurt Gidley will be remembered for being the Kim Hughes of NSW.

Scott Prince.

Injuries and better halves in front of him have all but kept him away from the rep scene.

Was one of the most dominant halves in the game when with the Tiges and earlier at the Titans
