The Bomber Morris Issue

Post Monday blues this is great news... blimey, I know coaching stock is thin on the ground, but taking on the wrath of Griffin is one ordinary choice.
It was only last week, Andy Webster of smh was writing a “Dear John” letter to the faithful not to put him on the payroll.
Flanno....
Isn’t Webster a Dragons supporter.

All the time, it’s the ultimate insult.

Don’t worry the Sharks will be handed another premiership like 2016 next year. John Morris will be gone, his likely to be replaced by Paul Green, that’s the mail I’m getting anyhow.
You must have your nose close to sphincter....

Interviewed on 360 and used the 'haven't run out the best 17 this year' line. Please banish that line. It is weak.
I also really didn’t like his response when asked something along the lines of ‘how challenging is it making the finals now you’ve lost Chad and Wade’... He talked about how important they were to the team, and did touch on it being an opportunity for others - personally I’d have much preferred a more positive answer along the lines of ‘Every week is a challenge, but we’ve got some outstanding players such as Trindall, Talaki etc who are chomping at the bit, who’ve been some of our better performers and who’ll come in and do a real good job, and they’ve now got an opportunity to make it their shirt to lose’ - rather than massaging the ego of ‘Chaddy and Wado’, he should have pumped up the tyres of the others and thrown his support behind them.

You guys are getting way too triggered by throw away comments. Surely use your energy for something more constructive like protest 5G towers or something.
Its a line he has used several times and so more reflective of mindset than throw away. Good sides take the approach of next man up does the job. Wishing for something you can't control is a waste of time.

No way I protest 5G. I am a supporter of anything that causes covid.

Unfortunately, Bomber has been referencing "We haven't had our best 17 on the park" all season, this is not a recent comment.

It has become consistent as an excuse after a poor performance all season.

Our best 17 is the one that is selected to play each week.

I would prefer that Bomber says "We have a young group of talented players that are learning the week to week demands of playing NRL footy. Consistency is something the playing group is still working towards as they continue to build."

It’s actually the truth.

We’ve played pretty much the whole season without our top earners.

Since you usually pay your best players the most, I’m not sure what else you can expect.

Anyhow, let’s pretend the guy on 70k should be equal to the guy on 700k.

I’m not sure why teams bother paying good players more money. They should just fill the squad with minimum earners if they’re all the same anyway.

Tbh who has been injured often this year that are better than who they were replaced with?

Moylan? he hasn't been great in any role anyway. Kennedy is prob better at fullback and costs a tenth of the price. he also never amounted to anything in the halves. All of Moylans replacements are prob better. This is not vintage Moylan, this 1 hammy Moylan that can barely run.

Xerri? he isnt paid much anyway. Dugan is better. Ramein on par

Chad? we all know my stance on Chad. Trindall has shown more promise, even Tracey

Fifita? This is not vintage fifita. Woods and Uele have easily replaced him

Even if all of the above were fit the entire year, how much difference would it have made?

Agreed. But the implication surely must be that be that we have a wasted/lost a helluva lot of our cap capability, on top of the cap fine already in play. And doubled!

Bomber had to sort out a fair bit of mess left behind in the wake of Flanno's ban. I still love Flanno and still dirty at the club *cough Barry Russel cough* for throwing our only premiership-winning coach under the bus, but it hasn't been a clean slate for Bomber. Roll on 2021. This year will be good for experience.

I agree Bomber could have tweaked the psychology of his comments slightly for a slightly enhanced impact. I disagree that it's having any kind of substantial impact beyond this forum storm in a teacup.
