The bunker got it right.
Take it up with the rule book if you don't like it.
Lol were does it say a player can throw the ball foward to himself?
It was deemed to have been knocked forward though, not passed.
And seeing as it didn't come into contact with the turf or another player before Williams regathered it wasn't a knock on.
Fair play by the rules.
Lol were does it say a player can throw the ball foward to himself?
This move can be easily perfected. I tried it out the backyard. Nailed it at the third attempt.
Shittest bunker call of the season.
Disclaimer: Dragons deserved to lose anyway.
They ruled he passed it legally with one hand, then knocked it forward with the other hand non-deliberately (the other arm having been knocked by an opposition player), then caught it before it touched the ground or another player. This is play on.

The referee has the authority to rule on intent. That's their responsibility. It was passed forward not knocked forward.
No one can rule on intent so no try would of been the correct call.
Don't think the Dragons would of won but who's to say.
Back to the original discussion on the bunker I believe they need to send it upstairs without an opinion.
If they don't know they don't know.
The referee has the authority to rule on intent. That's their responsibility.
So who Deliberately knocks on or throws foward passes?http://www.playnrl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/ARL-Rules-book-2016.pdf
Section 10:
KNOCK-ON AND FORWARD PASS
Deliberate 1. A player shall be penalised if he deliberately knocks on or passes forward.
Accidental 2. If, after knocking-on accidentally, the player knocking-on regains or kicks the ball before it touches the ground, a goal post, cross bar or an opponent, then play shall be allowed to proceed. Otherwise play shall stop and a scrum shall be formed except after the fifth play-the-ball.
The only thing that matters according to the rules is intent.
Ffs if he doesn't catch it everyone would be lol@trex for a token derp drop ball which he does every game. Because he catches it, it's now a cunning deliberate ploy to gain an advantage by throwing the ball over defenders heads.
Yes you could argue it's subjective. But that's the ref's call. The ref also has to make a call on bunch of other situations which could be viewed as subjective e.g. playing at the ball. How can they decide wether this was accidental or deliberate would just be subjective.
It's happened before. Dally Messenger was famous for deliberately throwing the ball over player's heads and regathering. So who Deliberately knocks on or throws foward passes?
