Didn't Batman vs Superman have a huge opening before falling off the cliff massively due to bad word of mouth. Suicide Squad was always going to have a massive opening, but the real success will be getting casual viewers in over the following weeks like Marvel have a knack of doing

Fred I'm right with you on the whole Marvel > DC thing, but Suicide Squad was a good enjoyable film to watch, and I know I'm not alone in not seeing what all the critics thought was so bad as so far everyone I know who has seen it enjoyed what they saw. It's no Civil War, but it's far above the low bar set by Dawn of Justice.

I just saw it having decided to wait till this week as I had some free Hoyts passes and after the word of mouth it was getting didn't want to pay big money on opening night.

I thought it was a fun movie. But tonally and pacing wise it was a disaster. Every second scene was slo-mo or a flashback which was annoying, and somehow there was both too much and not enough exposition.

The thing is, Marvel waited a decade to try and make a quirky superhero movie. DC looked at movies like Guardians and Deadpool and went 'people love that! Anti heroes! Classic rock! Do that!' You need to earn the right to do that movie and DC went a bit too soon I think.

And it doesn't matter what his role is, Will Smith is always playing Will Smith.

Not my fault you DC doofuses can't deal with the fact your studio puts out nothing but tripe. Forever in denial you lot are
You are so f**king dumb.

I am and have always been an X-Men fan, which would put me in the Marvel camp.

It's annoying f**king idiots like you who worship either side that for some reason have decided the other should be condemned at every opportunity. I bet you couldn't wait to get onto IMDB and leave a one star review for a film you haven't even seen based on what loudmouth critic idiots think of it.

Your posts here are as painful as moronic idiots like Mundane Matt and Midnight's Edge that are forever clutching pearls about movies they haven't seen yet.

Give it a rest you f**king spastic.

Not really

Marvels movies pretty much consistently dropped of by 70-80% second weekend across the board. BvS dropped by 79%

It's pretty common across all big movies. Only Star Wars and LOTR Buck the trend

Marvel also appeals more to 12-18 year olds who are more likely to see things multiple times.

Good on DC for trying something a bit edgier with BvsS. Just a pity it didnt work as well as hoped.

Just saw Suicide Squad.

Liked it... but LOVED Leto's Joker even more. Better than Ledger despite being a minor player. Imagine how good a standalone Batfleck movie would be with Leto as the antagonist!

I like Leto's joker but man I just don't like the look that much. The stupid tats, the grill, Weird ass veins under the eyes and the red lips.

I liked the portrayal of a badass gangster but the look is a bit silly.

Full Luke Cage trailer is out. Looks promising.

Nice touch of his original costume in his "lab" scene. Would look silly in 2016 so it's good that they referenced it.
