Four more episodes to go for tomorrow and yet no costume just yet, but I think episode 10 is where it may debut. Love how it feels apart of the MCU but doesn't hold back on the violence and language.

Loved the DD costume especially the origin one as well. Why did they put eyeholes on the red costume though??

Finished watching DD this morning. Loved it. Easily the best Comic Book based TV show ever made.

Daredevil has been amazing so far. I've got three episodes to go, but hands down the best comic book TV show I've seen.

Why can't Gotham be this good?

Why can't Gotham be this good?

A couple of reasons that come to mind:
1. Gotham is on one of the regular networks in the states, therefore is restricted in the content in terms of violence, language etc. Anything halfway decent these days is on Netflix or HBO.
2. Shows like Gotham and The Flash are episodic in nature. Each episode introduces a new bad guy, the hero fights the bad guy, and the bad guy is behind bars or dead at the end of the episode. Next episode, new bad guy, rinse and repeat, which pretty much makes them Law and Order/NCIS with superpowers. They don't take the time needed the flesh out these characters that have decades of history behind them. Daredevil built and built and built right to the conclusion at the end of the series, in the process completely exploring each of the characters and tapping into their rich comic book history.
3. Marvel > DC

I recognise all three of the points you make, Fred. That being said, networks have been able to produce something halfway decent in terms of ongoing plot (Lost springs to mind, but even Agents of Shield manages it on a major network).

While I do dig the blood and gore on Daredevil, network shows like Buffy, Shield, and a bunch of others have managed to be less camp than the writers of Gotham seem to want to be. And it's not like Gotham is all PG happiness - Fish Mooney dug her freaking eye out

It's shitty writing that holds Gotham back. It could be a huge show given the number of homes it beams into.

Really? I know the kingpin is supposed to be the big fat dude but Id think acting chops would be more important for a role like this

I think it would be tough to find a decent actor who could portray the intelligence and duel good/evil nature of a character like the Kingpin and look like this

That's the thing, though - Wilson Disk LOOKS fat, but underneath, he's almost 100% muscle.

D'onofrio was perfect. I struggle to think of anyone who could even come close to the performance that he gave

I don't have Netflix.

I'm a big D'Onofrio fan, but he wasn't what I pictured for Kingpin in terms of physique.

I had no doubts about his acting ability - he's class.

I know the Daredevil movie wasn't all that good, but I thought Michael Clarke Duncan was a great Kingpin.
