I'll see it today, trying to control my expectations.

I have no doubt that it can compete for best marvel film, but better than Batman Begins and Dark Knight?

Yes, and (IMO) yes. Personally, I found it far more enjoyable than then, but obviously no performance will ever come close to Ledgers in TDK

Definitely better than TDKR, which was by far the weakest in that series

You still haven't been kind enough to share your thoughts on that debacle that was Batman v Superman, the movie that was supposed to be DC and Warners saving grace and was going to jump start a cinematic universe to rival Marvels.

Everyone in this thread needs to see Civil War. Easily the best superhero movie ever made. No contest at all

lol fanboy much, I seriously doubt it even touches TDK

Also don't know why these turn into DC vs marvel and lol@snyder rants
Judge the movie alone, both camps have had hits and misses

Im not the biggest batman fan, he's too mopey for me but I prefer Begins to TDK.

Ledgers performance is the only great thing in an ok plot. Really Dark Knight is Nolan making a comicbook movie while being slightly embaressed hes making a comicbook movie i.e.

TDKR is garbage e.g. Batman takes up a life of fighting crime because his parents are murdered but gives up for 8 years when his girlfreind is killed.

Please.

And Civil War, brilliant!! Airport, Spiderman Black Panther, Vision, Antman, Spiderman all rock. Really liked Zemo as well, he was an intelligent and sympathetic villian.

And theres 2 post credit scenes. One half way through and one right at the end.

As someone who read Marvel comics and previously didn't give a shit about DC anything and didn't watch either of the last Superman and Batman films I enjoyed it. I had no interest in any of the other upcoming DC films, but now I do.

Just remember that it was Fox that started this cash cow. There have been some good MCU films and there have been some real shit ones too.

That airport scene was, quite simply, the most awesome thing I have ever seen.

Well, you know, aside from the birth of my daughter

Civil war is an enjoyable popcorn film, but not even close to Begins or TDK.

Don't get me wrong, it was very entertaining but I don't even think it's the best captain America film, and that's not a criticism of it, just praise of how highly I rate winter soldier.

TDK isn't just a good comic book movie, it's a good in its own right and wouldn't be out of place of got nominated for an Oscar.

I enjoyed it and it was entertaining, but I just wish they weren't cracking jokes for most of that scene. That kinda ruins the suspense of the action. You might as well be watching rush hour

I think that was just Spider-man who was being well Spider-man.

I thought it was awesome. Certainly didn't feel like it was a long movie like the last Avengers. I did not know Ant-man was going to be in it - that was pretty cool. Black Panthers seems legit too.

I disagree, the quips in the scene came from characters who were being true to their part. I mean if you dont expect that from Spidey, Scott Lang, Will Barton or even Iron-man then you dont know the characters too well.

They didnt take me out of the scene at all

i rather enjoyed it, if you think it was a failure you're dumber than i thought

A movie starring DC comics three biggest characters has been universally panned by critics and audiences, and has failed to crack $900 million worldwide gross, and if the $400 million production and advertising budget is to be believed, then the movie is only barely profitable. The only positive to come out of the movie was Affleck and Irons' performances.

Done well, BvS easily makes as much as The Avengers. But it wasn't done well at all. So yes, I do consider the movie to be a failure.
