No, what I mean is. . . you are the same on the forum as you are in real life.

I am too. I state my mind. We just have more debates on here. If we had debates like we do on here in real life then we would have a punch up every time and we don't want that.

BTW, you still owe me a beer.

whats that? the Gallery are trying to tell me something. Greg Bird?
Dykes? Beer? Reefy? SS?
Oh my fault, it wasn't the gallery at all. It was just the voices in my head.
Well we'll pick up where we left off.

BTR, I'll say it again ffs...........

I'm not anti Peachey just calling his number up this year, not next.

Karmichael Hunt is 17 and was touted as a potential starter for Queensland in this years SOO. He is a Lockyer clone for sure!

Brett Stewart (18)was the guy that scored a hatrick of trys against us at Brookvale to keep Manly in striking distance of us. He is not just speed but has a great instinct for the game.

To say that Peachey would be better than these guys next year or even the year after is someone who definately has the blinkers on.

Clinton Schifcofske? He was that green flash that made our team look like under 7's down in Canberra. Absolutely carved us up.

Rhys Wesser, Ben hornby & Matt Bowen played SOO this year Peachey couldn't even make the City/Country games. Ben Hornby cut us open at will at Shark Park this year and Rhys Wesser was one of the reasons why the Panthers could score a try from nothing last year and ended up winning the comp. Matt Bowen is also a potent attacking weapon and will only mature more in the next couple of years. Just take a look at some of his inspirational runs against the Bulldogs tonight.

I'm surprised no one else challenged BTR on these points. Either you agree with him which makes me wonder how much you are clouded over Peachey today/next year as opposed to Peachey his career. Or is it just the herd mentality, frightened to speak your mind???

I would have any of the above in my team instead of Peachey next year at the drop of a hat.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if the Sharks gave him another contract. It would mean the club has run out of ideas and vision for the team. Where's the courage to chase a new era of new champions rather than clinging onto past heroes flashbacks.

Micky b , as usual no contribution to a decent debate.

McSharkie, don't pump up the "inner tube" it's already overinflated!

Now hang on a minute DS you certainly can have your say on this forum and rightly so, but the peach may not be as good as he was in his heyday and after 10 years that would be right but he still has a lot to offer the sharks in defence and especially attack. We are currently developing a couple of players to play fullback for when Peachey is considerred not good enough which may or may not be before the end of next year.

!

FFS I'll say it again, you are anti peachey. Completely. If you aren't you will agree that he deserves another contract & that the profits from signing peachey can go towards purchasing another player next year. & possibly the next.

Karmichael Hunt will never be off contract. & peachey is more effective than him this year, but more on that in a sec.

Doeshe? He looked to me like somebody who can run 100ms in olympic time who saw half a gap. Since then he has been rank average.

hhmm I bet you retired ET at 28 too. Ther eis someobody with blinkers on & thats you. Your preconceived ideas on age injuries & value are so off the mark, I am amazed you even know the Sharks players names let a lone anything about footy.

Had a great game. Nearly on par with some Peacheys this year, but no where near as good as Peacheys game against the Broncs. Quality opposition.

Because you are wrong clearly. People rarely agree with peopel who are plain wrong. Your opinion is wrong. Your judgement is wrong. Your stats are wrong. Your judgement is biased & based on opinion ratherthan fact.

Who says they aren't. So because the club opts in a certain direction that is opposite to your amatuerish opinion, they are wrong?
Be ready to be disappointed, everybody else be ready to celebrate.

Heres a comparison of fullbacks.
As can be seen, Peachey is leading if not in the top 2 of this bunch.

No one and I repeat no-one can outdo the Reefy when he produces his % and figures. I rarely agree with Reefy ,Dragon Slayer, but I have to here because IMO Peachey deserves another year as long aS he wants it, just look at Reefy's figures they tell the story

imasharkie, I agree with you about everyone being entitled to there opinion. However don't get fooled by BTR's latest stats.

Why did you bring Brent Webb back into the picture when I left him out of the LAST post. I only discussed 6 fullback alternatives that you thought were better than Peachey.

Also he did not include Minichiello, Slater and Stewarts stats. Were they too good?

Stats are only credible if you name the source so others can check if they are for real.

Offloads, is hardly a killer stat for a fullback.

Breaks, bingo! One of the main jobs of a fullback is to try and break the defensive line......Peachey is last.

Miss tackles, Ahhhhh another crucial area for a fullback as the last line of defence. Peachey is second last.

Try Assists, agreed Peachey has set up plenty of tries for us and doing a good job. He is probably the only player in that list that plays defacto 5/8 for his club so he would lead this area hands down.

Trys, he's equal third amongst that bunch but not an alarming difference to the rest. Where's Lockyer,Slater and Stewarts try stats??????????

Errors, second last! Once again with your fullback this is a crucial stat as errors from him usually lead to trys. ie. turning points in the game, VITAL!

Next year........everyone will be another year older. For Peachey this will not help his game. The others will mature even more in their football games and the gulf will widen.

Now I ask the question would you like to see Peachey play Premier League next year? How would Stuart Raper feel if he was forced to put him there if his game got to the point that it wasn't up to to first grade standard? I don't think that would be a dignified way for a champion to bow out.

Do you????

He wont ever play prem league. becaue he is currently & will continue to be one of the best fullbacks in the game

OOh & BTW. Lockyer isa 5/8th

But seeing u dont give up & I was hoping you wouldn't

Now seeing that Minni, Patten, Slater et al or stting much higher on the differential ladder, they have players like Hill, Fittler, Lockyer Finch, wing, etc around them to assist, how are peacheys stats on par with theirs & better in most areas?
Is it because, he is one of the best fullbacks in the NRL.
Somebody better drag that piccy of the monty python knight back out I think.

P.J you ask a very valid question.

Metres gained!!!! The fullback can get the team in great field position with kick returns, and more importantly momentum for attack from a piercing run. I'd rate it in the top 3 stats to look for in a fullback!

Here's the metres gained from EVERY fullback in the NRL on average per game.

Minichiello 186.3
McKinnon 163.1
Schifcofske 161.5
Bowen 157.5
Hodgson 152.1
Hornby 145.6
Slater 132.8
O'Davis 126.6
Wesser 128
Hunt 118.8
Patten 114.7
Webb 113.6
Stewart 112.9
Watts 103.7

*DRUM ROLL*

Peachey 85.8

BTR, I've got a towel for you after you slipped off your inner tube............................

THANKYOU LINESMAN THANKYOU BALLBOYS!!!!
