The Corey Norman scandal thread

It is good to note that no illegal activities occurred so the only question that remains is where does this rate on the embarrassment scale for the NRL? One would assume that if it does get released it would rate fairly high. Of course, that would also rely on the media reaction and whether they have more or less than a 6 page spread on the issue complete with 3 straight days of leading news items and interviews with women's rights activists.

As it stands the NRL don't seem too embarrassed so I expect 0 weeks.

On a serious note. not that he deserves to have the video released, but one would have to assume he at least knew he was being taped on these occasions...

What I find worse is the low prick trying to get $150 000 from media outlets for the video. Any media who pays for the video should be shamed as well. This sort of practice should actually be a crime.

well people are merkins and try and sell anything they can record-its an easy payday, but the media dont have to pay for sensationalist trash, and that's the problem. we had the people recording pearce earlier in the year, a few years ago brett seymour's nrl career was ended when he was recorded drunk leaving a nightclub (i dont think he even did anything wrong in that instance).

if there was video of blake austin picking up that raiders fan i'm sure the media would try and make it look like an abduction attempt

but some of these players are f**king morons for hanging around with dodgy people

Dear Daily Telegraph,

Thank you so much for advising me via an entire front page that Eels star Corey Norman managed to have sex. That is fascinating information. Anyone else manage this deed or just Corey? I would appreciate if you could keep us all up to date on any other private activities of players so just so we are all aware of what kind of shenanigans these players are getting up to - especially if they are completely legal and consensual. Much appreciated.

Keep up the good work

Ahh, a lot of money on offer for footage of NRL players playing up. Can't see any reason why this sort of thing won't increase 10 fold if players keep putting themselves in situations they possibly shouldn't be in (and they seemingly do - right or wrong),especially if someone has received 150K for this particular footage.

Insane money if accurate.

It's worth nothing if nobody cares about it. So is it really the player's fault?

Unfortunately that's fantasy land thinking.

150K (reportedly) of fantasy.

Yes the player could have avoided certain situations no doubt. Should he have to?? The debate to that question is being discussed in here now, accumulating posts to this thread. Hence the reason media outlets pay for the footage. A vicious cycle of shit aint it.

This is up there with Joel Clinton being fined 50k for taking a woman to a hotel before a game.

Oh and Michael Slater's comments are a riot if you want to have a read, something about acting right in modern day society - is sex illegal now?

Why is the dumb prick putting himself in positions where he finds trouble? Carrying drugs for a mate. Signing contracts where he needs to collect money in a brown paper bag in a park. Sex with drugs and cameras.

Smart guy. You'd think there would be some form of disrepute charge but Parramatta has set an incredibly low bar this year...

No media organisation is going to pay for the video. They don't have to, all they have to do is mention that someone wants to sell it and they've got their story. It's not like they're going to play a sex video on the 6 o'clock news.

[QUOTE="Parramatta1947, post: 11639931,

Gutter journalism that I would expect from Weidler but Liam Cox is just as bad as Danny[/QUOTE]

This Liam Cox maggot has quickly established himself as the grubbiest journo around.

Considering the esteemed company he keeps that is no easy task.

Everytime I see a story with his by line it gets a wide berth.

Smug little ego maniac whose name is mud with players amd clubs.
