I think they just can’t be open game days.

Which is hardly end of the world , might be good for the club. Less people sneaking in a hip flask or pre loading. Go get drunk in the leagues club.

I'd imagine if there's a Woolworths that there would be a BWS. Can't see any bottle shop agreeing to to shut for 12 days a year. I'd also imagine the precinct would be considered an alcohol free zone in public areas... Just a matter of a few strategically placed security guards on game day I guess.

I get the concern but there’s Dan Murphy’s down the road at the cazbah and a BWS around the corner at wooloware shops. Seems silly to shut it down when the locals would know where to go and in some cases probably 800m to the BWS…

I don’t think any alcohol retailer will have restrictions applied as part of the agreement.

ALDI liquor is contained within the store and I can tell you they won’t agree to not sell it on game day.

They might not be able to sell booze at all. I know the Marrickville Metro Aldi only till they did a big extension weren't allowed to sell booze as there was already enough places in the centre selling them.

Granted Aldi came in after these shops so might not be an issue if everyone is there from Day 1.

I believe the Dan Murphy’s got rejected by the government or whatever due to concerns about having it so close to shark park on game day. Or was that just some rumour? Would be a great spot for one.

I don't mind Aldi. I'm about to do my shopping there in a hour or so.

The only thing I don't like is the speed in which they put your items through the scanner and you need to be even quicker to get them into your trolley. The staff aren't exactly friendly either to have any empathy for your lack of speed.
