If it was a cry for credibility they would've promoted the shit out of it and put it at the top of the show. It was a genuine story about a vitally important issue. Nothing more.

If you knew anything about the internal working of that network then you would better understand their motives. Ratings, and therefore money from advertisement and sponsors is the only reason TV is on - It is not for art's sake.

In this instance they see a way to make the show more relevant - so put on a heartwarming story. its nearly a weekly occurrence. I am not saying the reporter or producer didn't have the idea in good faith - Just that this is a regular tearjerker slotted in for credibility. It is much more suited to the sunday show that is a more serious program.

Nice work as well Mr. Moderator on calling people dickheads who are only putting their opinion forward. I thought this was a forum not a name calling exercise.

And as I've said before in another thread, good to see more old footage of the show which didn't make the Decade of Hits DVD. That anti-ad was one of the first TFS did. Ch9 should seriously re-release that DVD including the bits involving Blocker

His Rudd stuff if dead set average. The impression is okay and the jokes are always same shit different smell. He gets a team/player name wrong or uses terminology from one sport when describing another. Some of his impression stuff is good, but he needs to mix them up a little more.

Beau is a good (not great) comedy performer that i think would be much better if he collaborated with one or two writers that would offer him some quality material to play off. Anyone who watches those American late night shows would understand that their presenters spend many hours off screen with themselves and show's writers to come up with their comedic material.

Better still, now that he's retired it wouldnt hurt if did a few rounds in the stand-up scene.
