Tell me what the hell he offers at six cant kick cant pass can tackle but to small and his running game whats it got, no speed and continually ducks into the defender.Get off the drugs mate .
6. Daniel Mortimer (21) - at his best can tear through teams with his running, and is freakish with his support-play.
7. Brad Murray (20) - a star of the future, and the best play-maker by far in the NYC; young, but strong and extremely talented.
Mortimer has never torn teams apart and not one bit of his assets goes anywhere near being freak-ish. If you want freak-ish compare him to Hayne and see if anything he does goes within a miles distance of what Hayne does every week.
What an absolute load of sh*t. He's great sure, but if he was anything above average, he would've pushed Pearce from first grade every now and then, considering Pearce fits into the mould of 'average' halfbacks at most.
Of course you can't compare him to Hayne, because Hayne is the glaring definition of freakish. I've watched every game this year and not once...NOT ONCE, i'll repeat again - NOT ONCE have I seen Morts make anything more than a solid impact in a game. He has NEVER NEVER blown teams away, and Jamal Idris' ability to bump off defenders isn't freakish, he's just the 'biggest human being in the world'.Your first sentence is wrong in my opinion, I've PERSONALLY seen him tear teams apart last year. Why do you keep acting as if he did nothing last year, as if he was crap last year? Honestly, get over it and give credit where credit is due.
Your sentence about comparing him to Hayne has a pretty obvious answer, of course you can't compare him to Hayne because NO-ONE COMPARES TO HAYNE. You can say "oh but Billy Slater" or "but what about Greg Inglis", well that doesn't make a lick of difference, no player has to carry an entire team or is anywhere near remotely talented as Jarryd Hayne.
People say stuff is 'freakish' about players you wouldn't expect, i.e. Scott Prince's freakish ability at pin-point kicks, Jamal Idris' freakish ability to bump defenders off, etc.
Please...They once slotted Finchy into the halves, so i'll take his rep honors with a grain of salt, or if you want a better example how bout Idris on the bench or a f**king centre as 5/8? I can go on and on about why being selected for NSW means sweet f**k all, especially in the halves.Any NRL fan will tell you Mitchell Pearce is a great halfback, he is the NSW halfback for a reason and will stay there for a reason. He is probably in the top five halfbacks in the NRL. Brad Murray is far beyond 'average', them not putting him into first-grade can be for several reasons you obviously haven't thought of, as in;
1. No first-grade experience
2. Too young
3. Not ready for first-grade
4. There is a better player ahead of him
5. The player ahead of him is experienced
6. The first-grade Roosters are built around the combination of Pearce, Carney, Minichiello and Anasta
7. There is no point in disrupting a side if the halfback is already established
8. Who the hell is stupid enough to punt the NSW halfback in favour of a junior?
It sounds to me like you didn't think the second part of your post through at all.
Murray is a star, but for obvious reasons he won't be picked in their first-grade team.
And plus, devout Roosters fans I have talked to by the score say he is already first-grade quality and only being held back by Pearce.
So no, get YOUR facts straight.
Yeah and so did Barny Haslet and where is he now.

Roosters fans are at perfect liberty to say what they want about their average skill golden boy, doesn't change the fact that he's average by all counts.
Again, you are completely ignoring my posts and what I am saying.
I said LAST YEAR he tore teams apart. How many times do I have to stress that! Or does Mortimer in 2009 not exist to you?
No, it's because NSW have no decent halves at the ready. The only reason Mitchell ever got picked is because some idiot at the telegraph touted him as the next Andrew Johns simply because they saw some 19 year old bloke being able to kick.Says nothing about Mitchell Pearce; the only reason he wasn't picked in NSW earlier was because they picked him too early when he wasn't ready.
Greg Bird, Paul Gallen, Anthony Watmough, Kurt Gidley
A centre at five-eighth a bad decision? Did you not notice Jamie Lyon has won many awards at five-eighth, and all for good reason, because he can play the position WELL.
How the hell did I ignore what you said? I said he's never blown teams away, whether it was 09 or 10. Don't assume that because I said never that it means 2010 only, get over your unjustified Morts 09 wankfest
You did say this year. How is my 'wankfest' of Morts 09 unjustified? He was in contention for DALLY M ROOKIE and DALLY M FIVE-EIGHTH OF THE YEAR. That is hardly unjustified! And even then, did I ever say I'm a fanboy of Mortimer? FFS, all you keep f**king doing is assuming I got latched on to Mortimer, when I actually have a GENUINE OPINION WHICH I FORMED THROUGH MY OWN MIND.

No decent halves? *cough* Todd Carney. *cough* Terry Campese *cough* Peter Wallace *cough* Kurt Gidley *cough* Jarrod Mullen *cough* Luke Walsh *cough*
Mitchell got picked because he is easily one of the better halfbacks in the competition.
All of them deserved their bloody spot with good form.
Then why are you saying sh*t that being picked for NSW means nothing? Talk about being hypocritical......
No it was a bad decision regardless of his past accolades in that position. Don't even try to defend it, there were so many other specialist 5/8s that would've done better.
As I said, I agree with you.
Brad Murray is not average. If you keep hailing Tom Humble as the next big thing at Parra (which you do)
I can go on and on about why being selected for NSW means sweet f**k all.
TBH, I thought Mortimers "form" last year was on the back of Hayne.

Your Morts manager aren't you!?IIRC Morta was keen to get his contract sorted out very early on in the season. Before it had even started. That was a very smart move by him. He got the big cash and then plays like a busted.
Your Morts manager aren't you!?
Yeah I can perfectly understand that.
I just saw more in him personally, because of how well he played against the Bulldogs and the games before our run started. :? Of course, I could always just be biased; I've always been fond of watching young players succeed.
It's a very touchy subject though, as you can tell by reading this thread
I'm not very proud of my arguing actually, to anyone I would look like a tool  (it's probably deserved ;-) )
It's definitely the hottest topic between Parra fans at the moment, too bad stuff like Cayless' last game and such don't take more centre stage.
Sorry Mate, But Ozzie or Ando Didn't sign him for 200 K plus a Season. As matter of matter Fact people need to Know Morts signed for 500 K over three seasons including this one. Which is about 170 K which is Less then everybody Thinks. Morts Will Be a Gun at 5/8 Not Halfback.
