Goodbye Del Rio :( Devastated.

No Punk, No Bryan, no Del Rio, No Henry, all the reasons i got back into wrestling are fading. :(

Not a major loss, He was just a bit bland as a face and a heel. He wasn't getting much of a crowd reaction either way.

His was a pretty good wrestler, but he really only succeeded when he had Ricardo Rodriguez drawing heat for him and his mildly succesful face run was because the crowd was getting behind Rodriguez's announcing.

Once WWE split them up, Del Rio lost his crowd reactions.

what do you guys think of The Ascension???

I like them. They remind me a bit of KroniK, except they're not awful wrestlers.

Henry is back on TV now, and Bryan shouldn't be too far off returning. Can't say I'll miss Del Rio at all. Always found him to be bland with a side of bland.

All the above. For a guy they Jesus pushed, he never managed to connect with the fans as either a face or a heel. He was out and out terrible as a face, and got Miz level heel heat.

Del Rio was terribly used.

Good hand but his time was up in the WWE.

Wish a few more 'good hands' would move on too.

I was reading somewhere that WWE are anticipating a Royal Rumble return.

That would be a real shame as I think all the momentum and fan support that Bryan has built up with his Wrestlemania 30 triumph will have all but disappeared by then.

But if the WWE books a Rumble win and an underdog story line leading up to WM31 against a champion in Brock Lesnar he may get that momentum and fans support back.

I'd mark the f**k out for a Royal Rumble return and win, although Vince would probably have him go coast to coast and then get eliminated by Reigns or Sheamus.

Bryan's scenario sort of feels like been there, done that but it's a pretty easy storyline to sell at Mania level and they've already planted some seeds which they can take advantage of.

It never happens but it'd be great if the WWE put up 5-6 guys and booked them like they would be good picks for a Wrestlemania championship shot.

Back to Del Rio
It was obvious that the WWE didn't have anything goin for him, and since Ricardo went, we all knew it was a matter time.

Was never a fan, but its still a shame that they couldn't build him up

Wasn't he released for assaulting (slapping) a member of the WWE social media team? That's what some of the dirt sheets have been reporting.

Once he lost the WHC to Cena, the creative had nothing for him, I think the easy option was to just put him in a match with Ziggler every second week.

So Randy Orton shits in a guys bag, Cameron tries to bribe a cop, yet ADR gets fired for a slap...

Apparently his contract was expiring soon anyway and the rumor was that he was not going to re-sign.

In the current WWE environment of cost cutting it was probably an easy decision to cut one of the higher paid wrestlers loose not that he is not a long term prospect.

re Del Rio's release

THE WWE’s sacking of four-time world champion Alberto Del Rio late last week had been shrouded in mystery, but then details began to emerge about the incident that cost him his job. In a statement Friday, the WWE said Del Rio had been released from his contract “due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee”.
That employee is reportedly Cody Barbierri, a member of WWE’s social media team.
And according to a report, Barbierri fired Del Rio up with an apparent racist jibe.
“WWE’s social media manager was supposedly asked to wipe his plate clean following a meal in catering,” reports wrestlinginc.com.
“He allegedly joked that it was Del Rio’s job to clean the plate, which could be perceived as racist by Hispanic people. Del Rio was informed of the comment, and confronted him.
“The individual did not apologise for his remark and then smiled at him.
“Fuming, Del Rio slapped him.”
Responding to the claims on Twitter, the WWE stood firm in its stance, stating: “(Del Rio) is responsible for his own actions. If you’re angry at anyone, be angry at Alberto. There’s no excuse for a pro athlete not to conduct themselves in a professional manner.”
It’s not all bad news for Del Rio, though, with reports he will soon be headed to rival TNA.
