Hannay said in the presser that he made the decision to not take the 2. He said with trindall missing a kick from a similar spot earlier, and with them down a man he backed us. He didn’t expect the kick on the second though

you live and die by the sword. Bye, bye Josh. That is unforgivable

In the forwards, the ones staying are playing down to level of the ones going.

BHU and Talakai are good impact forwards but they aren't going to lay a platform. Woods and Tolman have no impact. Toby is all over the place. Nikora has never been consistent. Fifs is a shadow of his former self.

Williams has come on fairly well as a bench forward.

Moyza being out for so long has f**ked the left side attack. Connor can only run. He can't think or play make.

Thanks for bringing that up. I was going to post it too. The leaving soon/ DGAF attitude is a cancer.

I'm sure this has all been covered, but after watching that game I really need to vent:

- This season was always a bit of a write off once the Sharks decided they didn't want Morris, but they should still have been aiming for a finals position (even a worthless one). They have the easiest draw coming into the final rounds, but its hard to seem them taking advantage of it based on the last few weeks.

- The non-existent defensive line speed is incredibly frustrating to watch. They take two steps forward, and then wait. This leads to poor first contact, leading to more missed tackles and tackles that allow the tackled player to get up quickly. Teams are taking advantage of this, and the Sharks have offered nothing to change this.

- Even with the line speed being what it is, Woods is always behind the line, never wanting to be first in the tackle, over commits laterally and then just plainly refuses to readjust. He is the softest and laziest player I can remember. It has become even worse once he was told he was unwanted. Second half he refused to even run the ball (though I'm not too upset with that because screw him).

- Fifita is done, and the Sharks can not keep gifting him games anymore. He simply offers nothing in his 10 minutes of game time.

- Trindall and Tracey can not run a game. They offer little questions to defensive lines, and are plagued with brain snaps (like kicking on the second tackle). Tracey is an OK centre, but is not a first grade half. Trindall looks rushed and panicked on every play, which leads to him just making poor decisions. I'm really concerned with 2022 when we need a strong half to guide the team and allow Hynes to play his game.

- Ramien would be great if he could catch a ball running a line. Unfortunately, he can only catch a pass when virtually standing still. He is great at pushing of players and breaking tackles, but they don't advantage the team at all. They never lead to line breaks, extra ground, or a quick play the ball.

- Hannay has shown he has no coaching instincts or strategic play. Why have Metcalf play 3 minutes, when he could have offered more, especially when we had an extra man? Why move Talaki to the right side of the field and almost exclusively use him as a decoy when he looked damaging running on the left in the first half.

- Tolman offers nothing, but I'd take him over Woods and Fifita. That says a lot.

- Thank god for Will Kennedy. At least I can enjoy seeing him play, but he has been the sole dangerous attacking look over the last few weeks.

- Brailey puts in a lot of effort defensively, not hard when Woods is half-assing it next to him. I thought he looked good running to take advantage of markers not being set, however there are never options for him. This is where Kennedy needs to improve.

- I think 2022 will see the team struggle for attack with no halfback, so I really hope Fitzgibbon can get the awful defence sorted.

He lost me this game. Mustn't want a contract anywhere else. I think CT was giving us a f**k you, SJ has been giving us the f**k you, Dugan was giving us the f**k you and now Woods is deadset giving us a BIG f**k you.

Been more than happy to play the villain and support him and point out the good points in him game to game but there are no more good points. He's thrown in the towel. I can't support him anymore.

He can F**K right off
Oh no it doesn't work like that. He's yours. Own him. 😂

Imagine training this week ha.

The same players in the same positions running the same drills coached by the same idiot in preparation for the same result next week.
Perhaps he will find some time this week to address 1 or 2 of the issues that this game , oh and last weeks , highlighted , if he can wake up long enough .

Yes, indeed he did but I don't believe it for a second. What coach doesn't back his kicker OR give it to a different kicker? The message he has sent to a kid with no confidence, Trindall, that you missed one simple kick and now I don't trust you would be very poor and I seriously don't believe that's what happened.

I'm sure the decision came from on field.

That's showing your young half how much confidence you have in him .

They probably thought the kick was from where trindall kicked it from

Seems to have pretty much succinctly covered every issue we have , well done .

Just watched the press conference & Hannay was pretty adamant he made the decision not to take the 2 points.

He said he was backing us against 12 men however judging by our poor attacking options when attacking the line (or anywhere for that matter), it was simply a dumb decision.

f**k I hate it when we get inside the 20m & our pet play is a forward hit-up on the 2nd last!

Or try and run the sweep play to the right, however johnson could make the defenders second guess where as these 2 today end up just going predictably sideways into a crowded defence.

If he didn't have confidence in taking the 2 what had he seen in the 35 mins of the second half that filled him with the confidence that we could cross the line . Any 2nd rate HC would have taken the 2 .

Have always said that i rated Hannay as one of the worst players to have been recruited by the Sharks , i have now placed Woods on the same shelf .
The fact that one is our head coach and the other is our captain says all there is to say about our current predicament .
When things are this low there is only one way to go . Up Up Cronulla .

Hannay provides no confidence. His manner is flat, no fire. Offers no insight just pad answers. He said his job is to get them up for next week and that will get a challenge. FMD its the business end of the season, they are playjng for a finals spot and its hard to get them up. What a joke. Between him and Woodsy no wonder we get out enthused every week.
