Take some heads off and give away a bazillion penalties. LOD is not worth the trouble. Roosters are taking a gamble with him, hopefully the NSW team doesn't follow suit.

If I'm a Qld forward I'd much rather be playing against Ben Creagh and Jamie Buhrer than a fired up Luke O'Donnell

LOD was definitely given the "Mark Geyer" brief prior his last Origin game thats for sure.

Then he was backdoored when got suspended after it, much like NSW and Mark Geyer as well.

Peter O'Sullivan certainly knows how to construct a football team under the cap. First the storm, now the roosters. The man has the golden touch.

Interestingly enough, Trent Robinson commented last night on the radio that they could fit LOD into the squad because part of Maloneys salary was included in the 2012 cap. O'Sullivan was quoted as saying something something similar when Jennings signed. Uncle Nick must have Schubert wrapped around his little finger.

Turn it up man, Carney was coming back from being kicked out. Anasta and Perrett would of been on good coin. None of the others would of been on anything.
They have signed SBW, Maloney, Jennings, LOD. I don't think LOD would of come for anything short of 200k. Now thats not much for what he could offer.
Jennings isn't being paid half of anything from the Panthers, the deal was terminated on both sides. He signed a 2 mil deal for 4 years meaning Roosters pay him 500k a year. SBW would be double that.
I doubt they are cheating, though there is no way they have ANY money left. I have no doubt LOD is the reason Cherrington is going and Takarangi is gone. Those two would of been on 100k at max. Lose them both and LOD paid.

I knew it wouldn’t be long before the expert of NRL club financials entered the thread.

You have no idea what anyone gets paid.

Yesterday on the radio, plus there was this in the SMH today:

But Roosters recruitment guru Peter O'Sullivan, who capped off a golden summer in the player market by extending Mitchell Pearce's contract for another four years, said the side's roster for this season was a result of good management.
''It's pretty simple - the salary cap went up and we had money to spend,'' O'Sullivan said.

''The other thing is that we had a significant sum left over last year. We left some money up our sleeve and that obviously carries over and gives us extra spending this year.''
