So, booted the game up last night. Nothing real new for me as I have seen about the first 2 hours in Lets Plays on the net.

Did the Tanya mission, the first 2 Simeon missions, the race mission, the Franklin mission and the 2 paparazzi missions... then saved and had some fun.

Anyone know how to target people when fighting on PS3?

I know there is a button to counter, but Frank just stands there not even looking at the guy I want to fight. Minor fender benders turning into street fights is epic.

I can see me losing many hours in car customisation and purchasing clothes.... I am sucker for that kind of stuff.

Oh, Big Tim if you're going to customise heaps of cars then buy the Los Santos Customs property when it's available then everything is free for Franklin. Not sure if anyone else can buy it though.

If you do that remember you have to go to the one in the middle if nowhere to get free shit it doesn't work at the others.

Thanks for that. I have seen the free customisation stuff, figured I would work it out when I get to it. The garage is a loooong way out I have seen.... way to make me work for it.

Either way, targeting is one of the L buttons. I will work it out.... next week..... when I am done with my exam......

You tried installing it on to a USB?

Yeah mate that's what I've got it installed on. I only have a 4GB Xbox, but it's a reasonably new one. So frustrating.

How fast is the read speed on your USB? It's recommended to be 15mbps, if it's slower that could be your problem.

So, I got it from New Zealand on Tuesday, and I had played a few hours over the last few days. I'm not far into it, but my thoughts:

* driving is awesome. Feels tough at first, but you get used to it and it is slick.

* the way the world is rendered is incredible.

* just awesome.

What a f**king brilliant game. Beverly, in particular, has some really fun missions.

I haven't met Trevor yet, but I'm really liking Michael - what a badass!

And Long Dick is hilarious!

Just saw something that I thought was really f**king cool, I was standing on a little cliff overlooking the freeway, sniping people as they drive by. Naturally cops show up to put a stop to my evil ways, anyway the cool thing I saw was one of the police offers trying to drag one of his cop buddies, who I had already shot, behind some cover. Naturally I shot the idiot in the head for his troubles.

Was driving around as Franklin, and I get a random event - a woman being mugged at gunpoint.

So I step in, and kill the mugger. The woman then screams, whips out a gun, and kills me, screaming, "You didn't have to kill him!"

I also enjoy how much tougher the cars are in this game.

But getting away from the cops is tougher, I find - but I enjoy a challenge.

I'm standing on top of a hill overlooking the freeway, it's dark as all hell so there is no way anyone can see me, I whip out my silenced sniper, so no one can hear me either, I shoot one guy in the head and the cops not only know it was me, but they know where I am.

Just did the Merryweather heist (offshore) and now there's no missions for any of the characters to do?

Just the question mark ones and the rampages. Has something wigged out here or is there something I'm not doing?

Going to re-do the merryweather heist using the other plan and see how it goes.

Did you switch between characters? I did it the other way but I can't remember if I had to wait for a phone call or not. I'd just do some of the ? Missions and see if you get contacted. It's probably timed.

Does anyone else kill a robber on the street, drive back to the victim with the money, slow down next to them and then speed off? Sometimes if I'm feeling particularly evil I'll pop a few rounds off at them too

Re-doing it did the trick. After that I got a text from Michael about locating a getaway car for an FIB mission.

Good stuff. I've found a few times I've had to check the 'brief' menu to see what I've missed or to clarify the tasks, seems like the white text can be really small and hard to read if I'm on the lounge instead of being closer. An option for a larger text size would have been nice especially on the phones like GTA 4 had
