The Hatred of Dragon Supporters

I've had a browse thru the dragon forums and have heard a few dragon supporters calling on talk back radio. The thing that stands out is their absolute deep seated hatred of the Sharks, the shire and the supporters. It really is out of touch with reality. There really is a major mental problem over there. Where has St george been getting their supporters from? Have they been canvassing psychiatric institutions, drop in centres, prisons etc. I sure hope they are not a true reflection of society in the St George area.

The only St George supporters I've known personally were school mates from the 60s and 70s, who went for a team who had a reputation for winning consistently. By the way I lived in Lidcombe in the 60s and Eastwood in the 70s. I'd describe their support as latching onto a popular brand name. Or kids with puny egos using a football team to prop up their egos.

I don't know why they should hate the Shire, since most of their team live here.

They're probably the jealous ones who are doomed to spend the rest of their worthless lives in Carlton because they'll always be on welfare and won't be worth a sh*t...

the merger is subliminally blamed on us

with good reason

our participation in superleague directly led to the destruction of the st george rugby league club

its undestandable

if they had destroyed our club we would hate them too

Demographic shift (as in Asian migration and aging white Aussie population) will lead to the eventual St George's eventual demise or permanent move to Wollongong. Sutherland Shire will continue to be a family friendly and very liveable area and will have the means to support a major football team.

we were guaranteed a spot in the reformed nrl due to superleague

stgeorge and illawarra were not

there was going to be a sydney rationalisation and st george and illawara saw the writing on the wall

superleague and our participation in it were 2 events that destroyed the st george rugby league club

Don't forget their huge lebanese supporter base from Arncliffe area - not unsimilar to the bulldogs. They aren't going anywhere and will continue to support a Kogarah based Dragons. BTW they are amongst those showing the hatred on talkback - it's too easy to pick lebanese talk.

100% correct, but bad luck to them could not of happened to a more deserving team. I didn't like Super League or any of its agendas, but as a Sharks fan I am fully aware without it we would no longer be a single entity.
Thanks Mr Murdoch.

St George fans will hate the Scum for their own reasons.

Scum fans will imitate this and pretend to dislike Saints in response, that’s if they have the internet.

Well the white-anglo Dragin supporters i know are always having a go at The Shire for being white and anglo, then they turn around and have a go at all the (insert nationalities here) in the Hurstville/Kogarah/Roachdale areas who have invaded their area.

They're strange people, no doubt about it.

it's also the doof doof factor: tragic hot dog exhausted Mitsubishi Lancers with doof doof subwoofers, bling bling dress code, backward facing baseball caps, gang culture = like hating other things/people. Just reinforces the sensible two mergers were really the Southern Sharks who could have happily surfed together in the off season and the St. George/Bankstown Dragon Berries who could have played high speed police pusuits on balmy summer nights up and down the main drag of Earlwood. But they were never going to cross the ARL Superleague lines. If all the dumbasses who still get up on their high horses about Superleague along Murdoch/ARL lines would realise the real cause came out of Brookvale, life would be so much easier.

i think thats a fair point

but ultimately the hatred comes from deep down inside they know the sharks destroyed their club

the sharks are a constant reminder of what they have given up

My point proven - definite signs of mental and social dysfunction.
