Fresh off their Australian tour, much has came out about the Tomahawks. The Australians got the first look of the newest up and coming AMNRL star Nate Smith. Have been told many people throughout the world of Rugby League were very impressed. All I can say is I just hope whatever team Nate decides to play for, I am on the same team.

The Australian also showed that some Tomahawk players should think about retirement, or not playing for the Tomahawks. These same people are the players who make them sound like they are the best players in the AMNRL. Boy was their talent level exposed during the matches played.

Hot dog;

Sources have told me that many of the Canterbury players got a good laugh at hot dog’s play. At one time Hot dog went from his wing position all the way to the other side of the field to try to tackle Canterbury’s 5/8 man, off a scrum. Canterbury then just passed the ball over to Hot Dog’s wing, and had an easy tackle.

Also, herd that the Canterbury players were chanting Hot dog’s name so he would get back into the game. These chants were full of laughter also. Rumors say that Hot dogs play needs to get a lot better, if he wants to continue to play for the Hawks.

Mole;

Sources have told me that your kicking was right on target also. 1st tackle kicks when you are down by 40 points. Great strategy to use, I hope you never coach on the international level. Also, herd you were benched several time throughout the tour. Hey, that the #1 kicker in the AMNRL, in the mole’s eyes. Go figure why moles have such good eyesight.

I did hear of one thing that this team beat the Australians in. Was told that the Aussies could not out drink the Americans. The Americans in the drinking game were pounding the Aussies. So the American might have gotten their butts kicked on the field, but were kicking butt off the field.

Was told that you will see major changes in the St. Patrick’s team. Danny Bull, Christian Rahue, and other who could not make the trip will be back. Also, you may not see the faces of other pervious Tomahawk players. You might even have a few guys come out of retirement.

The kick on the first tackle when they were 40 points down was the closest they came to a try all night - they had to try something.

I thought the American forwards are getting close to the standard needed - and the backs were fair in attack - but the backs need a lot of work on their defence.

If you guys still have Timmy Brasher over there you should make him the first guy on the payroll as a defensive coach for your backs, because he is the best player I have ever seen in the area that your team seems weakest in (one on one cover defence on players in a bit of space).

Geez I can't wait to play Media this year.

Tell me Tomahawk, what reputable sources from the tour even talk to you? The Glen Mills boys kept telling me all tour how much they dislike you and how they avoid talking to you???

As for being benched during the tour, I played the first 70 minutes against Wyong, the first 75 minutes against Goulburn, 80 minutes against Canberra/Tonga and thankfully about 65 minutes in the charity game against St George as Troy Pezet, Dean Amos and David Niu all helped out in the halves.

As for the general play kicking, you truly do not know what you are talking about. The kick on the first tackle against Wyong in the 65 minute when we down by about 50 almost paid off and another kick on the first tackle against Goulburn when we were down by about 30 produced a try.

Go away you clown!!!

It is unbelievable how terrible you are for the game of rugby league in the US. I don't mean as a player, that is well know, but as a so called spokesperson. I wasn't even able to go to Australia and I am completely annoyed by your comments. The Mole will have to wait in line behind me when we play Media. Your best bet is a phantom injury that game. Save yourself

Hahahaha Tomahawk you gonna get smashed!! As far as im concerend, the Tomahawks were always going to get beaten, put they got out they are played the games and lets hope they take home what the learnt and put it forward to the AMNRL comp.

As for the kick on the first tackle.....well if you are trying to get a 40/20 then so be it, but if your defence can back it up and try and keep the oppsition down their end of the field then if worked to prefection could be a winner.

Grubsey how did you find it playing Tonga, what were they like?

Im very interested to hear what you guys think of the tour and the games if you dont mind sharing and the preperation for the St Patricks day match and Victory Cup...

Carlnz - Tonga were very tough and physical. Their forwards ran very hard with the ball and had a few very elusive runners in the backs.

The Australian tour was a tough one but enjoyed by all. Our results, particularly against Goulburn were disappointing, but as we always say, we are learning with each and every game. Our efforts against Canberra and St George were very commendable, we undoubtedly played our best football against the hardest opposition which is encouraging. Once again, through various reasons, we were missing some very valuable team members which also made our task that little more harder but all we can do is keeping on trying.

We used the Australian tour as a preparation stepping stone for the Irish test in Savannah on St Patrick's Day and we hope to post another victory against the Irish. Hopefully the team is assembling a few days prior to the Irish test which will enable us to prepare well and we also hope to attract a large crowd for the game.

The Victory Cup will be another tough campaign, but if we continue on the right track and have all of our personnel available, I am confident that we can be competitive in Moscow.

I think it was great of the US to come give it a go in Australia. The day will come when all those scores will be the other way around. It only takes time.

Tomahawk you are just sounding bitter now.

Thanks for the info on the Tongans, Can you tell what group you are in for the victory cup?

You know people have a hard time being critized. I can only tell you what I say thrue the sources I have. All, I can say is that my sources are pretty good.

Now onto players coming after me. I am an athlete, I am never scared when I get on the field. When I do start to get scared when I get onto the field, I'll give the sport up. Until then like the saying goes, "Just Bring It". I have plenty of my fellow teammates who will be thier right next to me. I know some poeplelike to take cheap shots, and say they are going to crush people, but the guys I play with all watch over each others backs. Are sportmanship is like no other team in the AMNRL in my opinion.

As for people talking about me, who cares. Do you think that everyone on a team does not talk about thier fellow teammate. Get up and smell the coffee fellas, you guys oviously have to much time on your hand.

As for who Iwill play for things are up in the air now. Several people have approached me to play for the Bulls again next year. Some of those individuals include Dave Nui, Kevin Deal, Mike Edwards, Pat McShea, and I can go on. So all you guys, get a life.

The final thing I have to say is that cetain people need to stop acting like children. If I say something, they have to start to cry. I have pretty good sources, and you do not have to believe a word they say. People have to relieze that thier is two sides to every story.

Canterbury players? When did USA play the Bulldogs or the Bulls?? Its a tad difficult to criticise a player for their performances against a side they didn't even take on Tomahawks.

Next the kicks on the first by the Mole are not what you would call a unique tactic mate. There are many sides that use it, and whilst it may not be the most common tactic say in the NRL, it does not mean it should be criticised.

Kicking on the first is a great ploy against sides where the defensive side is very quick, and very 'in ones face'. They generally will have either a fullback who is really close to play, or so far back you could park a boeing between the defensive line and him. If you put your kick right, it will pay dividends, Brisbane used it a couple of times against the Roosters the past two years.

Finally just for my say, is there is a very significant difference between criticism and straight out attacks. Some criticism to the USA side could be like, it may of helped the sides performance if they did less one out football and tried doing some set moves against the likes of Goulburn and Canberra, something I'm sure most of the USA side would agree to, or see the merit in such point.

Tomahawk, you can put forward some very good points at times, but your thread here is not one of them.

Yak,
I think he is talking about the three Canterbury Jersey Flegg guys who played some games for the Bulls last season.

Yes my mistake fella's. Yankstorm I take what you say to heart. You are 100% right. However saying that, I get attached by the mole and hot dog on a regular basis. So I quess it is more of a defense mechanism then anything.

When talking to several Tomahawk players about the tour hey seemed very disappointed. I think certain players thought the Tomahawks could have played a hell of allot better then they did. This was not what they wanted to come out of the tour.

However, saying that some good did come out. Nate Smith was exposed as the Real Deal. Kevin Deal got allot out of the tour, he saw how RL is played in the country the sport comes from.

Also thier were several Tomahawk players that did not make the tour that probally should have. Danny Bull, and Chris Graig did not make the rip. One of the 2003 MVP's of the league Erik Hollingsworth did not make the tour either.

Think the Tomahawks need to make a big statement next month. All we can do is wait.

Your spelling and grammar is really bad. Hope you get smashed this year it might knock some sense into you. The only thing I pick up from reading "The Hawk's Corner" is that your a bit envious you didn't make the trip. Sour grapes are the hardest to swallow so get over yourself, all you are doing is putting a target on your chest. It will be a long season for you bro!!!!

You bring up a very good point about people being dissappointed with the results of the tour.
It is hard not to be a bit dissappointed - but maybe a few results from this weekend might ease the pain a bit. This weekend the Newtown Premier League side played Newcastle Wests and had a very narrow win - while the Wyong Roos played Newcastle Wests and also had a narrow win last week. If you draw a line through that form - it means that Wyong and Newtown play close to the same level of football - and the Tomahawks certainly played much better this year against Wyong than they did last year against Newtown (the margin was about the same, but Newtown were cruising and Wyong played hard till the whistle).
I think the Tomahawks were noticably better this year than last, and I think several guys will improve even more from the experience.

Your spelling and grammar is really bad.

Who let you in on that secrete? I know this, and you don’t have to let me know. I don’t have the time to look up every word in the dictionary or use a thesaurus like others. However I’ll work on it for you.

Hope you get smashed this year it might knock some sense into you.

If you know anything about me I have gotten smashed before, and if it did not knock some sense into me then I doubt it will this time. Also like I have said before that does not scare me. The sport is all about hard hitting. Get over it. That is stuff they talk about in high school. The AMNRL in my onion is a professional league, and at the least is a semi – professional league. In American football terms I do not hear the #1 linebacker I the NFL Ray Lewis telling one of the best quarterbacks of all time Brett Farve he is going to smash him. Can we all act like adult here?

The only thing I pick up from reading "The Hawk's Corner" is that your (you’re) a bit envious you didn't make the trip. Sour grapes are the hardest to swallow so get over yourself, (;) all you are doing is putting a target on your chest.

I had to make a couple of corrections for you Bob. You also are entitled to your opinion just like me. Then being a little envious about not making the trip, lmfao. You surely do not know. If you did I tell people all the time I am one of the worse players in the league. I play because I enjoy playing, and I do not care if I play for 1 min or 80 min, as long as I get the chance to play. I am one of the more American players that are very passionate about the sport of RL. I have givin up countless hours of my time, and why (?) because I love the sport, and I want it to succeed.

Owe yea if I have a target on my chest, I hope it is big enough for everyone to see it.

It will be a long season for you bro!!!!

If I had a penny for how many time people have told me that I would be a very rich men.

Roopy:

I think I believe I bring up allot of good points. Allot of the stuff I say is stuff that others are afraid to say or just are afraid of repercussions.

There is an AMNRL player and who has been a Tomahawk selection several times that does not always get selected for teams because he speaks his mind. He is my opinion is one of the top 10 best players in the league. Why are we afraid to speak up? What does it hurt if you do? If I say something you disagree with, who cares? As long as you now see the other side of the story, that is what should matter. However, this is just not the case.

I for one am atleast incredibly happy that there are Americans now out there that are passionate about League. A little arguing simply highlights that fact.

Go the Atlanta Assasins!!! 2005
