I still see a "help yourself, while screwing other people from the country" attitude from you Pete..

but maybe I'm just a dumb city slicker with NFI...

Come on out on the weekend of July 3...see for yourself....

Pete,

Fortunately this weekend, July 3rd, if my mathematics doesnt fail me, is rd 17 in the NRL

I can hear you all now in chorus..."Parraboy your a genius" :D

I know I know, Im quite brilliant, sit down everyone let me finish....

Its actually the eels game vs Warriors in NZ. So maybe the legion of eels fans that cant make it across the tasman can trek to Hay that weekend? Im sure PP will be the perfect host

so to play in group 20 (instead of group 17), you have to travel loooooooong distances?

Yeah, but shorter than what we travelled in the old Group 17...Plus the old group 17 competition had NO junior football NONE, ZILCH....

I would GUARANTEE everyone will have a great time. After all, it is Hay and we are renowned for our welcoming nature...if people are not shy, and prepared to enter into the spirit of the weekend, you will have a memory to last a lifetime...

Pete, don't get offended by this - but quite often your beloved Hay Magpies hijack the SH*T out of threads relating to the Eels and Eels issues.

While some people are happy to discuss your club, Group 20 and the CRL with you, we mods are going to pull all these posts into one thread, so that people who wish to continue discussing Parra can do so without it getting missed in amongst an unrelated topic.

Mods - here we go...

Also Pete - just want to make it clear, we're not going to delete any of your posts - or move anything that you post regarding the Eels or any other topic.
It's just the Magpies stuff that will sit here. Just trying to keep threads true to their original topics.

Pete I would have no problem with Hay moving to Group 20 if Group 17 survived, but the problem was you moved knowing FULL WELL that the move was going to kill off Group 17, as we could not have a comp with 4 clubs. We were working to get Barellan and Ivanhoe back into the competition soon, and with the recent addition of Three Ways we could have got the comp back up. As it is I hope I never give up trying to get Group 17, or just Rankin's Springs Dragons back on it's feet.

If you were worried about the juniors, why not request Hay U16s move into Group 20? The 16s and 18s were dpleted on teams, Hay could have slotted in nicely. Anyway how it is I now play Group 20 with Yenda Blueheelers, in fact the U16s and Reserve Grade coaches are from Springs, and the Richards boys are still playing 1sts.
And with the others they all played for Springs in their last season.

Back to the Springs, the football club was the lifeblood of the town, as I'm sure you're well aware of. As it is, more people are moving and nothing unites the town anymore.

1993 Group 17 Grand Final, best day in the history of the world.

hey pete, has the 2nd player been confirmed yet?
Will be a huge coup if you get him and you'll get a record crowd for sure.

1993 Group 17 Grand Final, best day in the history of the world.

We took our 16s to Goulburn Murray competition, we took our 16 to Group 20..They did not work into getting a home game..Double the travel, twice the cost..
Ivanhoe would not have existed using the prisoners. It was tried, some misbehaved and the Prison put the kybosh on that. Barellan and Hillston were both overtaken by AFL..
might have lasted one year..but that would have been it.
It is a fact of life that small towns are dying. I agree with you that sport is a uniting factor. If the CRL did not move Hay into Group 20 when it did, and with a five year plan. League would be DEAD here now instead of thriving, and being one of the few growth Clubs in the CRL. Our website has had over 70,000 hits. Would that have happened if the Club was still in Group 17?
AND the Richards boys were in Group 20 long long long time BEFORE Hay moved into Group 20...
Good luck at getting Springs back up. Get onto Dave Skinner and make enquiries into joining the Bidgee Shield competition.
Was the 1993 Grand Final really better than 1995 -I don't think so......Depends whose eyes you are looking through.... Onya mate, look forward to catching up during the year...

Player No 2 has given us a YES, depending on his 'other' commitments...Timing is the only reason he will not be unavailable. It will set the sport abuzz in this area, and be fantastic promotion for Hay and Rugby League in general..(we have plan B in place in case he is unavailable)
No its not Mal, but he was coming (as a spectator) but for the clash with SOO. Why can't the ARL get its timing right!!!!!!
We usually have our match after SOO, but with Yenda President Adam Goldman REQUESTING the Blueheelers to be opponents this season, it was moved forward. Yenda is the bench mark Club in Group 20 and if every Club could lift its standards to that attained and mainted by the Blueheelers it would be a very strong plus for Rugby League.
Our second player will be the biggest attraction yet..BUT Toots Croker is not actually low profile either. 317 games with the Raiders. He will be coming out of retirement to link up. It continues the Magpies good relationship with the Raiders.

Thanks for the publicity for our game. Rest assured it will receive plenty of Metropolitan media coverage when details are all confirmed.

All CRL Clubs should get out in the media and push the attributes of the sport.
"Looking forward, going back"

good idea this..

Good onya Muzz. Enjoyed the to-ing and fro-ing, as I do always. You love your League, as I do. I love my Eels, Raiders and Magpies...You just love your Eels...
AND as I said to old mate, it is only a game, and we are all doing our bit to make sure it survives.

Mate I know when the Richards boys moved to Yenda.

1993 is far better than 95. Clayton Cup that year! Disappointing about the 16s, any news on 1st grade being in Group 20 this year? Would be interesting with the Pie in the Sky game against Yenda, however if it still reserves then I might be playing against the old NRL players. Interesting.

No, we move up in 2011...
You'll love the Pie in Sky atmosphere. The players don't play a full match.
Ben Roarty will probably be back with us again this year as well. But you would have played against him in 2009.
Seriously though, why not request the Yenda v TLU game to be played at the Springs....Be a good promotion...

I would love another game at the Springs. Nothing goes on at the sports ground anymore, it's in terrible shape. Give me a chance to play on my home ground as well, never got to play there.
