AND what's more, they LOVE IT.....
sure they do Pete, sure....
well it is called "pie in the sky" after all..
AND what's more, they LOVE IT.....
We sell the naming right for each annual match to a corporate sponsor - another great revenue raiser for the day. They are lining up to be the namers of the day. Bit like the sponsors lining up to become Eels sponsors after the changing of the guard at the PDRLFC.
Plus we use the weekend as a get together for the Clubs 'Old Boys Association'..They flock back..another great feature of the match.
wow..that's fantastic!..
and you refuse to pay $70.00 for NRL club membership despite the fact that they could be fielding future "pie in the sky" players...
I assume they don't pay for their own rego?
1 game = ring-inNo not ring ins...registered players
I am against regional centres having access to sponsors, more players, bigger schools, better training and transport facilities, better employment opportunities, greater transport systems, bigger Leagues Clubs, but there is nothing I can do about it. I don't like the fact that we are a smaller community, isolated and have to travel long distances just to get teams a game. Like we have to travel 350km EVERY weekend to provide games for our 7s 9, 11, 12, 13,14 teams without the benefit of ONE home match for them.
There is NOTHING we can do about that...we have to cop it. Thats a benefit of living in a country community.
We promote the code the way we do for the benefit of the game here in town. Come down on July 3 and see the promotion for yourself. Fantastic weekend - a festival of football.
Love it, and we have bigger plans in store for 2011....
have you said that to the teams you deserted in group 17 or whatever it was...
I'd be more supportive of the concept if the game was an exhibition and NOT for competition points..I agree with MITS!
The opposition must not be too concerned if they are actually asking to play against Hay on this weekend. Perhaps the whole weekend has more significance to them than the 2 points. Maybe it is not for us city folk to pass judgement if we don't understand the situation fully. Don't crucify me, its just my opinion.
My old home town of Werris Creek could benifit from a weekend such as this.
The decision to move Hay into Group 20 was made by the CRL Boundaries Committee..not by Hay Rugby League Club Inc.
Group 20 is a good strong competition with ex NRL players sprinkled throughout...
AND Stagger, as I have posted before in this thread, we don't have to please you or satisfy you or even appease your thoughts on the matter.
Next year (2011), we hope to have a couple of former North Melbourne players turn out for the Hay Lions AFL team, a couple of ex Wallabies in the Cutters lineup, as well as the League boys in the Magpies.
A cavalcade of sport, and it will sure put the town on the sporting map. Deni has the Ute Muster, Tamworth has the Music Festival, Bong Bong has the Picnic Races, Hay will have the Pie in the Sky Football Festival....
We have the players for one game, not the whole season and they are registered. cleared and everything is done by the book.
BTW, Matt Utai (with Brent Crisp) has been signed to play with Young, Daniel Wagon played with Gundagai last season, Adam Perry coaches Junee, Robbie Simpson (St George) played with ThreeWays United, Ben Jefferies (Titans) has been signed by Griffith Waratahs...
There is no embargo on a level of talent, and why should there be....
Just reiterating....WE LOVE IT...
that's fine 81236, but you also need to remember that we're hearing it from 1 side not the other, it's real easy for him to come in and say that everyone is in support of it when we don't actually know that..
and those guys ypou mentioned will be registered and signed for the whole season, I don't have a problem with that...
and while you keep reiterating that you're not out to please me, you still continue beat your own drum like nothing else matters..it's pretty difficult not to comment about it when you continue to promote it in here.
