simmons is one of the very few players in the NRL that is actually a lesser - and worse signing than ben rogers.

fmd. i'm all for outcasts with potential (rogers scrapes into this category)... but i have never seen anything from simmons. nothing at all. admittedly i don't watch all sharks games... however i reckon lulia has more in him than simmons.

Just as a side note Clinton Toopi has been released by the Rhinos due to a ACL injury. Would be tempted to sign him on match payments ad see how he backs up. Admittedly it wouldn't be until mid next season he would be ready but he is fast, strong and aggressive. Worth the punt.

I had read in one of the sunday papers that the centre the knights were looking at for next year.Was still playing in the finals and that he was nothing to write home about and still had a year to run on the contract that he was on.They also said that the Knights would be better of to keep doogs. But they did not meantion the players name.

On the signings thread, it mentions that Simmons is under contract for 2 more years. However Pommeroy and Anderson are only singed for one more year.

Pomeroy resigned the start of this year and added another 2 years to his contract so he has 3 more years at shark park.

Anderson is one of stickys loves and a backrower who can play centre. Given how light we are in the backrow, centre and the great form he has shown this year why would we give him up considering he is on a fair deal for both parties? Plus he is far superiour to the "mad dog"

Smith tried to get Simmons before. Even offered him more then we did and he IS off contract next year. You are probably looking at him or someone such as Ropati, Matai to go with Smiths fetish of kiwis.

I kinda agree. Next year I reckon Sau will hold down one centre spot and then Doogs, Wes and Lulia can fight it out for the other. Towards the backend of the year I expect a few of the younger guys to make a push like Simon WIlliams and Peter Mata'utia

tbh there is a fair few posters on the sharks board who have direct links to players and information and a story of simmons leaving has not leaked out. I'm sure if there was talk of it there would be a 50 page thread in our forum celebrating.

Lol I swear some of the people on this board wouldn't be happy unless it was Inglis, Folau or Hodges. I think Ropati is great and I rate Matai as well though he's more of a loose cannon with his anger/attitude. Sometimes I wonder about people that just look at the flaws of a player. You're only going to have 3 or 4 perfect players in one position in a competition. I would be stoked with either to replace Doogs over the next few years if not next year as they bring experience, respectability and a developed skillset that we don't have in our backline yet.
