5 weeks ago this Knights team beat the Tigers which is their only win so far this year. Since then they have lost 4 in a row.

53-0
26-10 (poor effort from Manly)
38-0
62-0

That's a month that adds up to 179-10.

What's going on at the Knights. How far back do you have to go to find a team that has had such a rotten run.

What does Nathan Brown do at training? Sure nobody had them as a top 8 team but even spoon contenders don't lose by that much that often.

Its a NSW cup team playin NRL. Same thing would happen if you took any NSW or QLD cup team and threw them into the NRL. Its not a matter of coaching, its basically we do not have the players that are capable NRL players.

There isnt a coach in the world that could help us.

It all stems from poor cap management. We are currently at the limit of the salary cap.

Its awful. It really is.

How did they get into this state is the real question.

This.

What's going on at the Knights has nothing to do with coaching...

There is perhaps 3 at most players in the Knights who would play firsts at any other club , I'm sure why it's come to this but you got to feel slightly sorry for the young kids

I feel sorry for Knights fans. Cheer up guys the good times will return.

Not unless the TPA system changes they won't. There is pretty much nothing we can do to improve our competitiveness under the current system.

If we want to recruit or keep a player that literally any other club in the comp wants, we have to pay cap-overs to do so - meaning we are literally unable to build a competitive squad.

But as long as the strong clubs keep winning, then reloading, the NRL is all fine.

Not disputing it but trying to understand the issues around TPAs for Newy - wouldn't they potentially have some advantage in being a regional team that has always been a big part of the Hunter community? There may be a shitload more marketing dollars in Sydney but there are so many teams and high profile athletes fighting for it too

Gotta love the salary cap at work and it's even playing field, the game is f**ked but the people in charge don't seem to care. As long as a few chosen clubs are continually up the top of the ladder nothing else seems to matter.

The salary cap forced the Dogs to let the current NSW Origin halfback Trent Hodkinson go and he was snapped up by the Knights. So the salary cap is working the Knights have just been signing the wrong rep players in Hodkinson, Uate and Gagai

So because the Knights are a mismanaged club, it's the Salary Cap's failure? Right...
