Poors Knights will never move forward as long as they have Beenett to blame. Which looks like they will for a long time to come.

The salary cap forced the Dogs to let the current NSW Origin halfback Trent Hodkinson go and he was snapped up by the Knights. So the salary cap is working the Knights have just been signing the wrong rep players in Hodkinson, Uate and Gagai
Yeah it's just no fair :( Nothing to do with the fact Des chose Reynolds and Mmbop over him. Yeah it's just not fair not to have 3 halves on big money in a squad. Your club need more TPA'S to even things up.......

Yeah its hilarious to see people rambling on about haves and have nots. What do the Cows and Sharks have off the park that the Knights and Tigers don't? Competence, not money.

People used to blame the refs for their clubs failings. Now it's the salary cap lol. Whatever helps ease the frustration though i guess

Bullshit. Right up there with the Broncos and Cowboys this year in the 'there's no f**ken way in hell that team is under the cap' stakes.

I guess it's the get square for the NRL's diabolical handling of the peptide shit.

Give it a rest pal we dont have 10 or so internationals playing at the Sharks

Can't blame the salary cap for newcastle's problems. They are still feeling the after effects of tinkler, benett and gidley. They brought the wrong players in an attempt of a quick premiership and it's back fired horribly and they are now paying the price. Just imagine if Benett, Gidley and Tinkler had no salary cap in 2012-2014 period, it is possible newcastle could of done a leeds United on themselves and would of imploded by now.

Start of last year a heap of people didn't think the Broncos would even make the 8. Their squad is basically identical (except for Hodges out and Roberts in). The Cowboys are going to start losing players now contracts are coming up for renewal

Another moron who thinks that winning the grand final automatically bumps your current contract up by a few hundred thousand for the following year.

Bennett saw the writing on the wall, gotta feel for Knights fans but it's not the coach

Stop speaking so much sense, you're supposed to despise the Broncos just because. Tall poppy syndrome? Never heard of the f**ker.

Find it hard to comprehend schnappy he left the knights in a shambles

 General plod

It seems you are the one with comprehension troubles. Can you not see the hypocrisy ?

When the Broncos thrashed the knights you bitched and about 'the haves and have nots' and and moaned about the result being bad for Rugby League.

Now when your team smashes the Knights, your excuse for the knights is past management. Of course you werent cheering for the last few try's your team scored today.... being so bad for the game and all...

I thought the salary cap was meant to make the competition fairer, yeah right

Great day for Rugby league the haves and have nots

5 weeks ago this Knights team beat the Tigers which is their only win so far this year. Since then they have lost 4 in a row.

53-0
26-10 (poor effort from Manly)
38-0
62-0

That's a month that adds up to 179-10.

What's going on at the Knights. How far back do you have to go to find a team that has had such a rotten run.

What does Nathan Brown do at training? Sure nobody had them as a top 8 team but even spoon contenders don't lose by that much that often.

Rabbitohs had a run like this from 2002 to 2006. What's your point?

While we'll always be disadvantaged by the laughable current rules, the state we're in now roster wise is mostly self-inflicted. It started during the Bennett/Tinkler regime. Way too many older blokes were brought in who had very short expiry dates and the effects of it are apparent now. And we couldn't replace them because blokes like Uate and Mullen (who we can't keep on the field) were put on very large and very long contracts during this period which eats up the cap. Didn't help we were also paying out money to Boyd who wasn't even f**king playing for us. Then Stone being Stone last season simply followed on Bennett's plan of putting average players on the type of contracts that a club without TPAs simply can't afford to do and expect to have a balanced and quality roster.

So because of all this we're basically in a situation where we can't go out and afford to sign anyone established to fill all the gaps - we have to fill the squad with primarily rookies/teenagers who obviously aren't ready yet at this level and you see the type of results we've been getting.

It has nothing to do with coaching IMO. You simply can't send out an NYC/NSW Cup side out against NRL quality competition and except anything other than what we've seen. There's been terrible management of the squad age and cap wise and we're seeing the fall out from that now.

Frankly as a Knights fan there's absolutely nothing to give us any hope. Any of the young blokes making up the current squad now that do somehow manage to keep developing despite getting smashed week after week will just get poached like we've already been seeing.

A real f**k up.

Don't think some people understand the salary cap. Souths were accused of cheating the cap after 2014. In the previous off-season we lost guys aostasi, crocker, king, lima, peats, farell, everingham. Our premiership team had 3 rookies ( auva'a, Johnstone, turner) 3 players who had a handful of games in 2013 ( walker, keary, T.burgess), 2 players from 2012 ( G.Burgess and Reynolds), tuquri of the scrap heap after a failed irish rugby stint, and a couple of cheap toilers in clark and tyrell.
Both souths and Knights were preliminary finalist in 2013, if we didn't get rid of our overpaid older players like asotasi and co it's likely we'd be in a similar position to newcastle right now
