Extending the Vegas impact.

What if...

The club's play two rounds in the USA before returning to Australia.

For instance, round 1 is the double header in Vegas, the big event at Allegiant however for the week after they swap opponents and play stand alone games in other strategic cities.

For instance (just random choice of teams)

Round 1: Vegas NRL event - double header.

Panthers v Melbourne
Warriors v Titans

Round 2

Panthers v Titans - Los Angeles
Warriors v Melbourne - Salt Lake City

This could ensure the fans that fly in, spread the love and get to two cities. Additionally, the costs of flights are not doubled, arguably only five / six nights more before they fly home.

Why stop at just 2 rounds?

They could fly all the teams over there, then save money by not having to fly them all back again for 6 months.

Genius!

And if you just got 1% of the population watching, that's more than it gets in Australia.

which sounds great, until you realise that trying to get 3mill yanks watching a new sport isnt a quick, easy or cheap task. Soccer has 24mill playing in USA, only 700k watch EPL and even less watch the USA league on tv (350k). I think a bit of a reality check is needed when we talk about 'just' 1%.

Where did this " reality check " come from?
You're just literally popping up to be randomly negative...
He's a thought for you:
If a bold endeavour into the US is successful, then perhaps a bold endeavour to WA becomes more likely.
If Vegas doesn't take, don't expect them to go rushing off to get burned on another quest..
For every negative sentiment you share , the same could be said for Perth.
1 percent of 2 million doesn't look great pal.

reality is reality. when people talk about 'just reaching 1%', the stark reality is that is a massive reach for any minor sport in USA, and soccer (as an example) with all its years, grassroots, money, high profile club owners, EPL and its own league is at 0.1%. Them's the facts. Dont blame me if you dont like them.

Funny you should talk about 1% in Perth, if we got 1% of perth tuning into NRl games on the back of a Perth club it would be a bigger avg tv audience increase than introduction of dolphins got for avg Tv audiences in Brisbane (avg13k per game tv increase in 2022).

Got to love stats eh?
