Oh FFS, it's called league in NZ, always has been, since I was a boy, I played rugby on Saturday and league on Sunday. Sports weren't called rugby league football, rugby union football and association football.

That's the issue champ! If both codes were regarded in an equal way it should be union or league! Not call ' rugby' for one code and the other gets the scraps. I'm happy with union or league. Where I grew up it was footy and union. Appreciate the local differences but in the big scheme of recognition it does not help rugby league. That's all. Its a wholistic recognition issue which is impacting on rugby-league recognition elsewhere.

One is derogative 'league' and others are not so. Only in direct discourse including both rugby versions is it reasonable. That is using league and union to differentiate. Not using the term 'rugby' for one and 'league ' for the other. Especially on a RL website.

It's those people wielding the influence and means by which rugby league is being limited and constrained in so many ways and this is but just another way in which they 'enforce' the submissive stance that you have unwittingly and unknowingly followed. Not stating that I'm an expert but I have a degree specializing in Communications Studies and one of subjects was Media, Sport and Society.

Lol. You're trying to state that its a convenient way off referring to the code. Like I have stated "On a rugby league website referring to rugby league as league and at the same time referring to union as "rugby " is not appropriate. It puts rugby-league in a lesser light even if its not deliberate. That's what it does. It infers that rugby league is secondary in status to rugby union. That's not the way to refer to this code on a website that purports to support rugby league.

Didn't state that!? Just letting it be known. When you are in a discussion and someone starts referring to rugby league as 'league' beware that this person has either been to a private school and or has grown up in an area which regards rugby league as the poor cousin to rugby union. Hope you can work that out.

When people do what this particular moderator has done and in the fashion he has defended this insult to freedom of speech, I'm well entitled to vent my opinion. Atm this moderator is unruly, disrespectful and unfair. So if you are of the same stance then so be it. But you will not temper my disbelief that someone can get away with this sort of behaviour as a moderator. Its out of line and reeks of bias toward an agenda that is protective of a code that is intent on stopping rugby league for well over 100 years.

You are the LIAR Te Haka. Not me! Another NZ based contributor is questioning some of the 'information' you have provided on the NZ stadium scenario. Who are we to believe? Someone who doesn't respond to real examples of rugby league being repressed and calls the code disparigingly 'league' or a guy who's been passively viewing this discourse and has found enough of your falsehoods to actually provide genuine comment and information.
